Have you been a fly on our wall lately? This is exactly what we've been talking with him about for the last several weeks. And I've been teaching a Sunday School class on this topic. My son is a nice looking, charming kid and he attracts girls easily. He's handled it well so far, but we keep telling him that if he ends up living in a co-ed dorm, it's not going to be as easy to remain pure. (That is another concern of mine about going to one of these schools.)
My oldest son attends Grove City College in PA and he enjoys the single-sex dorms where temptation is practically removed. And he enjoys the conservative bent of his professors (even in calculus class!). I do wish my second son would go to one of these schools, but he really wants to attend one of the more "prestigious" schools and he has certainly worked hard enough to at least earn the right to apply to them. Who knows if he'll even get in? He's not brilliant all around, so he might not. I honestly don't care much if he ends up at one of these schools or somewhere else. He loves to learn and he will do well and enjoy himself anywhere he goes.
Thanks for the kind words and advice.
They must have heard about it on FR : ' )
