It's a start. That along with the Nat. Guard, should put a dent in this travesty.

Passed with a $1.2 billion down payment on it.

I think maybe I should start a fence building company.

It's a start, but what good is a fence for all the ones who are here and get amnesty? If we sent them back the way we should, we would not even need a fence. Prosecute landlords who rent to illegals and employers who hire them, prosecute city officials who are in on the sanctuary city scam, get rid of the income tax and implement a national sales tax(no more business tax-evasion), get harder on illegals who commit violent crimes and theft, stop rewarding illegals with taxpayer money...

$325 per foot, assuming the $1.2 bil is enough to cover the first 700 miles. I'm in the wrong business.

"Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (news, bio, voting record), D-Mass., called the fence "a bumper sticker solution for a complex problem."

He did not even cast a vote.

"A 14-mile segment of fence under construction in San Diego is costing $126.5 million."

Sens. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., made a 11th-hour appeal to colleagues to include in the fence bill a measure to help the agriculture industry, which relies heavily on undocumented workers.

You really think I have sympathy for the criminals who employ a large number of illegal immigrants?

How 'bout we send them to jail and bill them for the incarceration etc money we've spent cleaning up the illegals they've lured into this country?

"Pickers are few and the growers blame Congress," Craig said, reading a news headline. "The growers ought to blame Congress. They ought to blame a government that has been dysfunctional in an area of immigration that has been problem for decades."

Word of advice Senator Craig. learn when to shut up.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the border security achievements trumpeted by Republicans don't measure up to the more comprehensive reforms her party backed. What the GOP calls achievements fall "very far short of what Democrats have proposed over and over and over again," she said.

Woohoo!! That's a ringing endorsement if I've ever heard one!

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (news, bio, voting record), D-Mass., called the fence "a bumper sticker solution for a complex problem." "It's a feel-good plan that will have little effect in the real world," he said. "We all know what this is about. It may be good politics, but it's bad immigration policy. That's not what Americans want."

I think an actual fence might have some effect in the real world. It does in my neighborhood. LOL teddy is unhappy. Very good news.

Well, now you're talking. That's a little more profitable $1711 and change per foot.

I assume that charge includes laser-guided missiles to fire at anyone who attempts to cross it, plus Escalades for each of the Border Patrol agents. Otherwise, it might seem...expensive.

Wait till they get to Lake Amistad on the Rio Grande (presuming they get THAT far)...

and every penny worth it for the fence.
It is costing us tax payers mega millions a year to support the illegals here in San Diego.

And I thought a six foot block wall was expensive at $80 per linear foot.

Maybe some of Mayor Daley's Chicago construction companies are involved.

"What do you think?"

I think the GOP has moved on to the window-dressing stage. That's a definite step up from the what-me-worry stage. The fence and all the rest of it is a joke. Illegals will continue to pour in, violent felons will criss-cross the border committing their crimes at will and both parties will continue the charade of legislative tokenism. Few if any will be deported and stay deported. Get ready for de facto amnesty and illegals voting in our elections for the foreseeable future.

Guess the government has not heard of capitalism.

Ask for volunteer's,recruit company's,etc,etc.

A billion $ doesnt exist anyway,let alone $1.2 billion.

Congress Approves 700 Mile Border Fence

They can start by taking one mile of it and putting it around the New York Times building.
