I'll bite.
It's possible he has the same attitude towards his own money that we all have....we all know we can spend our own money more efficiently than big governments can.
It is possible Bono is putting this money to better use than if it were funnelled through beauracracy.
On top of that, Bono HAS always come off as being more pro-capitalist than his bandmates.
So...if U2 money is better spent on good causes because of tax sheltering - there may not be hypocricy. It depends on what they do with it.

Attention Ann Coulter! The title for your next book: Hypocrisy.
Such a project could easily swell into an encyclopedia, but a nice, thick book full of documented liberal hypocrisy would make a fine addition to her work.
