Clinton's team put it out to the left wing blogs on Friday before the event.
I think the real winner is Rupert Murdoch, he gets a big ratings boost for his TV channel and still gets to call Hillary a friend. Win, win.

You forgot about the loss of state legislatures to the Rupublicans (more democratic ones when he was first elected, and more Republican ones by the time he left),,,and his losing effort to help Gray Davis in California by portraying it AGAIN as "Republicans trying to overturn an election".
He has obviously been very DEEPLY cut by " The Path to 911" and is reeling on the defensive. He is in full damage control because if he doesn't try to fix the leaking ship, the whole lot of DNC candidates will sink before election day. Despite the lies in the left winger press, it has been ever since "The Path to 911" that the Democrats have been losing support and enthusiasm.
This was, IMNSHO, a planned strike, it was an ambush on Chris Wallace, and it should anger every American that the Clintons are still more interested in power and legacy, after all these years, than doing the right thing. When will they ever grow up?
Chris Wallace said it became obvious that Clinton was throwing out the 'ground rules' that Wallace was expected to follow, so he just "went with the flow." What actually happened, was Bill Clinton just got himself some free air time to vent his little sililoquy, and on Fox, of all places. When he was President, he just called a press conference and he could waggle his finger in Americans eyes, and lie to their faces. Now, he has to shanghai a Fox News reporter on live TV.
The reason he went off like that is to give Hillary an excuse to not appear on FNC.
It was really bad back then. I believe that was just prior to Freerepublic being around. The posts on the Usenet groups were interesting. Militia members all across the country thought the government was coming for them. The first reports we heard were that a 'middle eastern' looking John Doe number 2 was being sought. Initially everyone thought terrorist attack by foreigners. Then all of a sudden the emphasis changed, probably when the toon got involved, and it was strictly a domestic case. The truth of the matter was that the Michigan Militia kicked McViegh out for being too violent and then they reported him to the FBI months before OKC. Also, McViegh was witnessed associating with 'middle eastern' looking men days before the bombing. The attack on the right wing over the OKC bombing is now credited as helping Clinton over come the debacle of 1994 and helped him to win a second term. So to be it all in a nut shell. Clinton blamed OKC on right wingers and used his attack on Americans to help him recover from the 1994 loss of congress. He made the investigation a local law enforcement issue and ignored all the signs that McViegh was a fall guy for 'middle eastern' looking types. Clinton would rather fight us right wingers then fight the 'middle eastern' looking terrorists. He viewed us as a greater threat then the Islamic terrorists. And apparently deep down inside the pit of his stomach (Wallace interview) he still does. Looks like a lot of prominent dimwits also believe the same.
Clinton could have answered the question in 25 words or less and kept his dignity (what there is of it). A smart person would have. Whether he planned to jump all over Chris Wallace ahead of time for asking about bin Laden or whether this outburst was totally off the cuff, it made him look like a complete fool.

I have always thought that one quiet day, perhaps in the Fall, with the gentle Virginia breeze whispering through the trees, a small secretive group of Republicans, without fanfare, will unveil a small statue of William Jefferson "Clinton" Blythe is some dark corner of the RNC compound. Perhaps it will be mostly hidden behind a group of shrubs.
But they should, because Billy Blythe handed America to the Republicans as no Republican could ever do. Yes, Newt had a very large part in it, and you would have to pave the path to the statue with gold bricks labeled "Rush Limbaugh - EIB," but people must admit it was the absolute shock Americans woke up to one day, early in the first Clinton Administration when we were facing a socialist health care plan (which failed miserably after wasting millions on Clinton lackeys during 'development') and attempt to make openly practicing gays in the military ok,(which devolved into 'don't ask, don't tell.')
For many people, like myself, who were largely asleep-at-the-wheel politically, this was a trumpet call to action. The red flag was up!
And I believe there are many, many, Americans, like myself, who would really rather go back to being casual about politics. But.. the Clintons and their kind keep attacking and attacking. So how can we rest? The Republic is at risk with these fools trying to mess with it.
billy-jeff ain't that smart, and what you would have had him say would not have furthered his wife's or party's ambitions for world domination.
