I joined FR back in 1998 (my date stamp for this username is 2000 - but I was under the username YrWorship then) - I read more than participated but God, do I remember all that was discussed and shared about Clinton's temper, the Chinese, the staff who were abused, the "insiders" reports....

God do all of you bring back memories...I was telling my husband the night after the second part of PT 9/11 that I could see why Clinton was upset and anxious to keep it off the air, but frankly, I thought the film let him off EASY, compared to what could have been included...and that from all my memories of what had been posted on FR.

It is also why I have this mantra that I know others are sick and tired of me repeating (but I dont tire of it, because I would love to say it to the Clinton's face) :

I/We have recorded (his legacy)
I/We will teach (his legacy)

I think this is the basis for that quote. I think Bush was trying to talk about resources and priorities... and maybe was misinterpreted.

But hopefully "He's dead, Jim" describes the priority for old Bin Laden now.

I just looked it up in the Starr Report. Monica claimed that he had phone sex with her 15 times. That is a fact!

In fact, according to the Starr Repot, he INTIATED all of those phone sex calls!!

I'd be will to be that he met and/or phoned with the Director of the CIA and FBI MUCH LESS than that during the Monica years. Especially since he was mad a Louie Freeh, and wouldn't talk with George Tenet.

And I would DOUBLE that bet, that he met with the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs less than that during the Monica years too!! I read where he only met with the Chairman once during those years. I can't find the source for that one, though.

Those two questions would show where his 'OBSESSIONS' lied.

I just wish I could find where I saw how many times he phoned/met with the above during that time.

I didn't. It wasn't exactly a brilliant statement to make. The political results and polls speak for themselves since in many cases this admin doesn't know the difference between flies from bees and has allowed misperceptions and lies to float out there and become solidifed in people's minds.

But my point wasn't directed at Bush. It takes teams to win. Bush shouldn't be saying that dems were responsible for 9/11. He shouldn't have to. The RNC should have armies of people lined up to blast the dems on their ineptness on national security.
