"We were raised to dance like that," senior Kayla Bisson said. By who?
To: NCjim
But some students and parents don't see it that way. They say that like the jitterbug and disco before it, grinding is just a sign of the times.
I have jitterbugged, and I have freaked and done whatever disco dances were popular.
None of them looked like my partner and I were kickin' it doggy-style.

How about teaching the children how to dance correctly. If they don't, they should be asked to leave. I'm not sure punishing the entire group because of some offenders is the right way to go.

By their mothers who grew up in the 80's emulating Madonna's sluttiness.

A lesbian stripper and her life partner, I'm guessing.

Pete Duval = dumb as dirt

"We go to a dance to have fun, and you telling us how to dance is not fun," Cooper said.
Two things, Caitlind honey.
First, simulated sex isn't fun. Actual sex is.
Second, "Caitlin" doesn't have a D on the end. Your parents are clearly as stupid as you are, so at least you came by it honestly.

Other parents, including Pete Duval, said they don't object to the dance style, because it doesn't lead to further touching. Once the music stops, they said, so does the grinding.
"The look is extremely sexual, but the intent is not," Duval said.
If you truly believe this, Mr. Duval, you are as stupid as Caitlind and her parents.

I disagree. How about having some sense of decorum. Why don't they just dance naked? Will that be the next thing kids do?
To: wagglebee
Oh, I ditch the sword when I hit the dance floor.
The Frisbee of Death, however, stays . . . unless I'm limboing. It can be the difference in winning or losing!

The biggest problem I had raising kids was parents like Duval that defended their delinquent kids and their practices. There is always a parent that wants to defend their child's actions no matter how bad. The problems is that today these parents get the spotlight.

Asked by parents to describe the dance, Connolly offered this: The girl leans forward and the boy puts his pelvis against her backside. Then, he thrusts. Just video tape it and let the parents decide for themselves. If some parents are ok with their kids doing this, let the other parents know so they can be aware of the standards in their community.

Yup.
And as for Elvis Presley -- he was a lowlife.

Next thing these students will want to defend is the removal of their clothes while they dance and grind on school property. As usual there will be parents who can't "understand" why little Johnny is being picked on by those mean people who believe in public manners and decency. This is what happens when parents think manners are out of date.
