I don't have any pro-life Christians representing me. I have a local representantive at the state level who agrees but has very little influence. A letter to out-of-district reps/senators will carry very little, if any, weight.

What I have done is contacted dozens of friends, family, and church members to ask for financial support for VoteYesForLife. My FR page is now dedicated to that as well.

You have more influence here on FR than I do. Will you do the same?

It's very clear what God's Word has to say on the subject.

My favorite verse on abortion is Proverbs 24:11, posted earlier:

11 Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!

12 If you say, "Behold, we didn't know this;" doesn't he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn't he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?

Here we have before us a real opportunity to do something.

Unlikely, since federal funding has gone up in every year of this administration. Various right to life groups have been chewing Bush's butt about it, but it's not changing.

As a non South Dakota person, what seems most interesting to me about this campaign is how civil it sounds. The pro-life side is focusing on women and how empowering motherhood is -- not bloody fetus pictures. The pro-choice side is running ads saying they value human life, but the act goes too far. Not so many "rosaries off my ovaries" chants. Is this true? Is it really that civil? I get the sense that when people have to appeal to actual voters, as opposed to railing against judges in Washington, you change the tone.
