Ro_Thunder is not posting facts, he's posting out-right lies:

"Anti-death penalty.
Anti-2nd amendment.
Pro-drugs. "

Kinky on capital punishment...

Kinky is not anti-death-penalty, but he IS "anti-the-wrong-guy-getting-executed."

On the 2nd amendement...

"The second amendment is every bit as important as the others. Texans have the right to keep and bear arms, as well as to hunt."

On abortion...

"I’m not pro-choice and I’m not pro-life. I’m pro-football!"

On drugs...

"Friedman opposes putting nonviolent drug addicts in prison, preferring rehabilitation services."

This is hardly "pro-drugs".

But hey, don't let the real facts get in the way of Ro_Thunder's phony facts.

There's GOT to be a punch line following that statement (out of K's mouth.)

Nope. No punch line.

One thing that none of the pro Gov Goodhair shrills on this board will answer is this. What does it say when a sittign republican governor in as conservative state as TX, who si the personal friend of GWB can only get about 35% of the votes in most polls. Especially considering who he is running against.

In the days when Texas governors had two year terms, Preston Smith and Dolph Briscoe won reelection.

Actually, Briscoe was first elected to a 2-year term in 1972 and then re-elected in 1974 as the first 4-year term Texas Governor.

I wish we would go back to a 2 year governor election cycle.

Based on his remarks made last year on MSNBC to the effect that sexual predators should be locked up and made to listen to "Negroes talking to themselves", I believe that Friedman has a list of statements that would offend 95% of the Texas electorate for one reason or another. Clayton Williams' remarks about relaxing and enjoying rape during the 1990 governor's race will seem like something Mr. Rogers or Captain Kangaroo would have said in comparison.

Thanks for the correction. Also, John Connally served two terms as Texas governor.

Frank is the type of individual that would bring many "conservatives" back into the Republican party. Pro-life...Pro-family...Pro-gun...Eagle Scout at the age of 14...active in the church...Military service. It's hard to find fault with this guy.

I've talked with Frank about future political goals and with enough encouragement I think he could be called upon to serve in a higher and larger capacity.

Don't quite know why you note that private school teachers are the best because it doensn't support your argument that we need to pay public school teachers more. Private school teachers are paid less than public ones.

Way to regurgitate the blurbs off Kinky's webpage.

Sure, his web administrator put this info:

Q: What's Kinky's position on capital punishment?
A: Kinky is not anti-death-penalty, but he IS "anti-the-wrong-guy-getting-executed." Texas needs to take a serious look at the way it implements capital punishment—no one in this state wants the blood of innocent people on their hands.

But - he's said in the past numerous times that he's against the death penalty. Period.

He's also had interviews where he's been against guns - period. Not just for self defense, not just for huntin, but not at all.

And - as for the abortion, what an assinine comment. Frankly, it's not worthy of a response.

Q: What is Kinky's position on gay marriage?
A: Kinky supports gay marriage and equal rights for homosexuals. He believes that the constitution protects everyone. As he says, "I believe love is bigger than government. And besides, they have a right to be as miserable as the rest of us."

Those ARE facts, as he (and/or his webmaster) put them.

This is an outright lie. Care to back it up with a source?

12. It is now legal to carry a concealed weapon in Texas. As a result, crime has gone down. An unfortunate side effect, however, is that there are now about 18 million ambulatory time bombs any place you go just waiting for Dustin Hoffman to pound on the hood and shout, "I'm walkin' here!" As for myself, I don't carry a weapon. If anybody wants to kill me, he's going to have to remember to bring his own gun.

Because I believe there is something in the mind-set of the Eagle Scout that provides an excellent breeding ground for the future mass murderers of America.

http://www.ruminator.com/content/040501.html
SM: How do you feel about gun control? You wrote a column a while back about why you don’t hunt, didn’t you?

KF: I’m not anti-hunting, I just don’t hunt. As far as gun control goes, in Texas the conceal-and-carry law is working really well; it’s cut crime and I think George W. did good with that one. I don’t think he did well with the death penalty—I’m not as confident as he is that innocent men haven’t been killed.

That's all I can find on my lunch break.
