How far is Lonedell from St. Louis and Jefferson County?Never mind. I read further and saw the distance.
For those of you wondering why she didn't use her own phone or cell phone, she probably didn't have a home phone and there is a good chance there isn't any cell service where she was.

Hello,
Lonedell is in Jefferson Co. It is located on Hwy 30 (at Hwy 47). From St. Louis City, it is about 30 miles out.
Glad to be here, MOgirl

Did you come to the conclusion that I used the word out of confusion? I certainly know the definition of the word that I used, thank you.

I didn't have a support group around me when I had my kids. Our families live 2 hours away. My mom would stay with me for about 3 days after I had a baby and leave. My husband worked, he only took time off the following mornings after I delivered in the middle of the night. When my last child was born, I had a 3 year 2 month old, a 14 month old and a newborn. Life hasn't been perfect for quite some time. ;)
A cell phone isn't useful in half of my state, but we do have a land line and 911 (and Onstar, my folks pay for a cell phone, "just in case", but it doesn't work too well here, as I said). My understanding is that not all areas have 911. If something horrific like that happened in my house, when I came to (she was unconscious) I would probably run out of the house screaming and looking for my child or the woman. I would run to another neighbor's house because the one place I know that they aren't would be my house. And at least a neighbor could tend to her and her child until help came.
From what the police said, this woman was determined to make it. As a mom, I cannot imagine the horror of this incident or the nightmares I would surely have every night. I just pray that the child is as safe as she can be in this situation, and is found and returned to her parents.

I came to the conclusion that you didn't know what you were talking about.
I don't see anything 'conservababe' about thinking that having two illegitimate children out of wedlock is okay.
I don't think anyone has said that this woman deserved to be attacked, her throat slit and her child abducted, not that I have seen anyway.
The only person that I have seen being tacky to others about it is you.

Ah yes, you spout the old hymnal of conservatism...I should have known. Let's see...chastise the woman if she had aborted her babies, and she didn't. Well then, chastise her because she had them out of wedlock. And we have not even gotten to the information that they might have been on welfare. If so, you still have bullets to fire in your sanctimonious range of rage.
To: Conservababe
What is 'conservative' about you then? Why call yourself a conservative when you don't believe what it stands for?

It means that, as a conservative, I expect folks to take responsibility for their life choices. But, I will pass no moral judgment on them if they have done so.
It seems to me that this family has a breadwinner and a loving mother. I haven't yet heard the couple or their family ask anything of me but their help in finding their daughter.

Something just doesn't seem quite in sync. Perhaps the fact that there's no mention of the baby's having a father? thanks armchair internet detective

You don't know what you are talking about...and name calling is just plain rude.. you're right, its so much classier to respond to a thread of a woman having her throat cut with comments like "where was the childs father"
To: stuck_in_new_orleans
And what is the problem with that?
I'm sure you haven't wondered about anything on FreeRepublic before. This is where people discuss things, speculate about things, wonder about things and ask questions. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, IMO.

I will pass no moral judgment on them if they have done so. Maybe if someone started passing judgment on people they would try harder. After having one illegitimate child should have given her a clue. When a man isn't willing to commit to you he isn't interested in raising a family with you.
How fair is it to the children to not have a full time father and mother who are committed to making your life the best it can be? And doing the best they can to provide for you the best way they know how, not just being a sperm donor when it suits his fancy.
I don't see anything conservative about spreading her legs for the fun of it and bringing children into this world who will suffer for it.

It seems that these children did have a full time mother and father. Perhaps the only child suffering would be the kidnapped little girl who had already bonded with her mother and daddy.
