I didn't see the internals on this poll. I suspect they will tell the story better. 1009 registered voters (not likely), and it was conducted by a Republican and Democrat...Bill McInturff for the GOP and Peter D. Hart for the 'rats.
According to Mark "Let's make some news by publishing a poll" Murray, 61 percent believe Bush's recent comparison of the Iraq war to the fight against the Nazis and fascism during World War II was inappropriate and was made only to justify his policies in Iraq.

All these polls point to one inescapable conclusion:
George Bush will not win reelection this year.

They called Florida in 2000 for Gore based on polls.... and damn near gave it to him. These polls are a waste of HTML.

The "polling field" is a totally useless and self-perpeutating industry.
They are about as accurate as a monkey throwing feces at a dart board (hey, maybe THAT is what they do.)

You are right. That will be influenced by falling gas prices and the WOT. We are going to pick up seats in both the House and Senate.

Go read the questions at the PSMBC website. Pure push polling. Way too many "if or" questions. Clearly designed to push the respondent to a predetermined response.
Then read below. Weekend poll, no mention of how they weighted the sample, registered not likely voters. Based on the result pretty obvious they over sampled Democrats and "Independents" yet again.
The NBC/Journal poll was conducted of 1,009 registered voters from Sept. 8-11, and it has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points. It comes after several major events, including the news of the thwarted terrorist plot in London, the end of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the buildup to the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

They've quickly learned to hide their sample because for them too many people are on to the rigged game.

what's interesting about this article is that it no longer speaks about taking over both houses of congress! i think things are definitely trending in the GOP's favor... Demonicrat expectations are starting to fade (i hope), regardless of the typical MSM hype...

hmmm Sept 8 to 11.. Seems like this does not fully include the combo of the Path to 9/11 and then the Presidents Speech on Monday night..
Seems like the next poll will show are bigger uptick.

"Likely to pick up seats"??
Isn't that a step down from "Likely to take over Congress" or "likely to take over the House"?

Dems seem likely to pick up midterm seats... I thought it was a sure thing that they'd take control of the House but now the left stream media is telling me it only SEEMS likely that they'll pick up some seats.
I'm confused........[sarcasm]

Historically it would be just about unprecedented for the party out of power in the sixth year of a U.S. President NOT to pick up seats.
Soooo if the line has moved from "likely to be in majority" to "likely to pick up seats" then it's line with historical projections.
If the GOP somehow manages a stalemate or actually picks up seats, it will be an indictment of Emanuel and Pelosi and the hard left lurch they took the candidates in.

Boy, the Dems are going to be tearing their hair and slitting their throats in November when they find they've lost out again! But then they are doing that already.....
We should really feel sorry for the poor, angry, frustrated baseturds!

Well, they have stopped talking about winning the House, and are now talking about "gains". But the trends are going our way. By the time Election Day comes around, the only question is how many seats the Democrats are going to lose.

My family comes from a long-line of republicans, and painting the democrats as cut and run and middle class tax increaser's is fair.
