What about the former congress critter from Baltimore -- Quesee M`Fufie (sp?) -- who ran the NAACP (into the ground) and just ran in the primary for the open Senate seat. Is he Muslim or did he just take a Muslim name to be cool?

More AP incompetence. The "Egyptian rstaurant" the author cites is the Blue Nile restaurant on Franklin Avenue. It's Ethiopian, not Egyptian.

So if he wins, will the first piece of legislation he introduces have to do with
- Female Circumcision?
- Punishment for Apostacy?
- Chopping off of Hands, Feet, and Heads? or
- Stoning Women for Adultery?

Ellison, a 43-year-old criminal defense lawyer who converted to Islam as a college student, overcame questions about late parking tickets, overdue taxes and his past ties to the Nation of Islam.Given the conversions of inmates to Islam while in prison, it makes me wonder about the how and why of his choice to convert. And does a 'former' Nation of Islam member ever really sever completely ties to the Nation and Farrakhan? First Democratic Muslim Congressman? Let's hope Ellison is not the first.
