a report that said folks on an airplane at Dulles airport struggled with someone who attempted to open a door mid-flight.....

We have seen several headlines along these lines.

Just wondering how everyone else feels about this....what would you do?

...other passengers struggled with this POS....??

Me? "Struggle" is not an option.

The sucker punch of the century....with all my 6' 6", 250 lbs devoted to the effort.

The NFL kickoff attempt, of the century, right to the nuts.

The WWF record for a body slam, recognized because the perp's body imprint is now a permanent part of the aircraft's sidewall interior.

Struggle?

Is there a doctor on board?

That's just me. I know being in the actual situation would be different.

The headline would read, "Passengers struggled to refrain a man from killing another passenger that went crazy and tried to open a door in flight...."

I am glad the people fought back. This is good sign that people now understand that they are in charge and are not going to let some punk or punks kill them. Terrorists better be on guard. As Todd Beamer said "Let's Roll!!"

Brazilian Subdued On Plane At DullesSep 13, 2006 -- The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the FBI arrested a Brazil man after he tried to open an exit door of a United Airlines 890 jet traveling from Los Angeles to Dulles.

The jet landed at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday at Dulles Airport. MWAA spokeswoman Courtney Prebich said no one was injured. As the plane landed, police and FBI agents subdued Carlos De Oliveira, 43, from Brazil, who is charged with interfering with an aircraft, a felony. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday and is being held in the Loudoun Adult Detention Center without bond.

A passenger, Ken Wolfenberger, of Whittier, California, told The Associated Press that the man wore military fatigues and patches with special forces and jujitsu champion logos. He said the man sat up, wrapped belts around his hands and threw punches into the air, before a flight attendant yelled for help and ordered him to take his hands off the handle of the door.

Wolfenbarger told the Associated Press that before police arrived, the man was held down and punched by other passengers as he grabbed a man's leg.
