Since the 1968 presidential election, when nearly 10 million Americans voted for segregationist Alabama Governor George Wallace, the Republicans have... I've read enough. Geo Wallace ran for President 4 times...3 times as a Democrat and once as an Independent...he served as Alabama's Governor as a DEMOCRAT.

This is just a hit piece designed to reinforce that all Republicans are Christan fanatics. Trying to divert from the truth that Republicans stand for Conservative values which include gun rights and government fiscal responsibility.

"That has meant following Wallace's lead in using issues of race, crime, and "morality" to attract white middle and lower middle class voters." Why yes, that IS the democrap party modus operendi. The only thing this democrat falk left out is the democrat party defesne of the slaughter of millions of alive unborn children. Why must we suffer the spittle of such fools as this Sara thing?

I'm sorry Robert feels that way.

I'm sorry Robert feels that way. Heinlein was a pretty astute observer of human nature.

Perhaps but in the USA we never had or ever will have a theocracy. Secondly just because laws may be based on morality does not make us theocratic.

You and I differ a bit. I also grew up in Christian environment and never considered it fundamentalist at all and never abondoned them. To me, it was called faith. I still have the same faith but will never preach here on a website. You either believe or you don't.

I still have the same faith but will never preach here on a website. You either believe or you don't. I, like you, still have very strong abiding faith. However, the thought I intended to purvey was that you can't, and shouldn't, shield people from choices. Those decisions are matters of education and faith.

Perhaps but in the USA we never had or ever will have a theocracy. Secondly just because laws may be based on morality does not make us theocratic. It depends on the laws, and on who's theology.
We are already seeing serious attempts to ban teaching the theory of evolution in science classes, and, as you point out, we are nowhere near a theocracy.
Does this not cause you to wonder, what's next?
Geology -- can't find evidence of the global flood. Gone! Astronomy -- does not agree with Genesis. Gone!
Genetics -- goes back hundreds of thousands of years. Gone!
Linguistics -- no evidence of the Babel incident. Gone!
These are just a few possibilities. Do you not see a potential problem here?

With all due respect, Sara Diamond comes across as, well...silly.
The woman has "issues" with Christianity. And capitalism.
What could be driving her? Marxism? Or lesbianism?
Probably both...

As one of those who would be in trouble under a theocracy, I thank YOU! ;) (just kiddin'--we have to maintain our sense of humor around the humorless secularist Christian-bashers)

Are we gonna give um the milked ones or the unmilked ones to play with?I think we should sort of mix them all up and then let them choose for theyselves!

I see a problem with your premis that those things would take place. I do not believe they would. I see a strawman in the making but that is all.

And way back when Tibet was a sovereign nation, what was Iran?
A monarchy.
Like I said, they were old CIA Fact Books.
