Right! But where is Prevois's thread?:)
Mr. Bush and his wife Maria are both in my prayers today.
Just spoke with Maria, the doctor made rounds and has said he'll specify a donor in Memphis, yes we have one there now, who has agreed to give blood. the procedure is to identify donors by name. The doctor, at this time, wants to restrict the donations to the Memphis area, so thanks to everyone who offered but lives elsewhere, we may contact you if enough local blood doesn't become available.
By the way, just to bring everyone up to date. The doctor said "absolutely not" when they asked him about the previous evenings proposal to give Maria's husband O+ blood.
This certainly brings home the necessity to take personal responsibility for our medical treatment. I know I've learned a lot from this situation!
I'd pony up and donate myself, except that I'm O+.
I saw this last night, but my husband is not home to answer.
Thanks for the ping.
Keeping our FRiend Maria and her family in our prayers.
Thanks for your prayers. All is fine as of now.
Maria
Thank you for replying, Maria.
Thank God. Thank God your husband is on the mend.
I asked my husband as soon as he returned and he could not recall anything such measure being sanctioned.
Take care, dear FRiend and may God bless you and your family.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. My husband is doing enough better to be able to come home and be treated from the Dr.'s office. Thanks again
Maria
FWIW, I was O +
After receiving a bone marrow transplant, I am now O -
Cancer free for 14 + years.
Thanks, your advice is exactly what we decided to do. There might be another time that he would need that 0+ in an accident or emergency surgery.
Maria
Wow, I bet that was a surprise!
Glad you are both home safely. Take the rest of the day off and just rest!
I'm so glad I was able to help! I hope I didn't get too technical. I tried to explain it as I would to my MLT students. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
Thanks for letting us know. I moved to Memphis last year but nobody in my family has that blood type.
St Jude's may have what he needs.
Prayers to Maria and her family. If there is anything at all I can do please let me know!
