And it's not difficult to see which side the party that censors free speech and truth, and promotes lies and defends threats against the President, is on.
Not a peep from any of them "on this thread" but post a thread about our potential GOP presidential candidates and they tear each one into shreds.
"They sure are desperate, aren't they? I wonder why."
Maybe because it makes Clinton look bad? Maybe it contains things that might get people thinking about why they ever voted Democratic? You know how bad it is when the little people get to thinkin'.
.....Presenting such deeply flawed and factually inaccurate misinformation to the American public and to children would be a gross miscarriage of your corporate and civic responsibility to the law, to your shareholders, and to the nation.
..... The Communications Act of 1934 provides your network with a free broadcast license predicated on the fundamental understanding of your principle obligation to act as a trustee of the public airwaves in serving the public interest.
....We urge you, after full consideration of the facts, to uphold your responsibilities as a respected member of American society and as a beneficiary of the free use of the public airwaves to cancel this factually inaccurate and deeply misguided program.
As they age, the Clinton's become more pathetic.
Guess the days of quietly killing stories like this are over, huh? It takes a very public unconstitutional threat by a Minority Political Party to get done what you used to get done with a less than direct birdie in the ear. How the corrupt have fallen.
In a way this is more damning than the story itself. I should thank you Billy. After all, the past is the past. But what you've just done is current, and therefore more shocking to the American population as it hasn't been hashed to death yet in discussion and book sales.
They've ended up doing more damage to themselves then if they had ignored the two part mini series. I guess those finely tuned political skills have also waned in the last years Billy? Or were they overblown to begin with. I choose the latter.
You couldn't scrape together a majority vote in either of your presidential elections. Without the sax, Arsenio and the "Read my Lips" pledge you never would have gotten to the W.H. the first time. And it took the media and a lousy candidate by the GOP to coast, still below majority vote, to a second term.
Your life consists of immoral activities that at the core reveal nothing of worthiness in your soul.
I pity you. And I pity those that support you. And I'm incredibly sorry Chelsea had the misfortune of being raised by the two of you.
Billy, you aren't as powerful as you believe, even when you were at your height. One day you'll know that. God have mercy on your souls.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure someone did the preliminary work on that here on FR back when the Swifties were being threatened.
Exactly.
"This is evil, but it's also political suicide, IMO. Threatening Disney? I mean, c'mon!"
They threaten the Boy Scouts too with their ACLU cohorts.
Democrats are poison.....wake up blind liberals.
I sent the link to the Detroit Free Press and the News is next on my hit list. I'd be surprised if it makes the morning papers, though.
Sens. Reid, Durbin, Stabenow, Schumer, and Dorgan sent a letter to Disney today containing the following passages:
We write with serious concerns about the planned upcoming broadcast of The Path to 9/11 mini-series on September 10 and 11. Countless reports from experts on 9/11 who have viewed the program indicate numerous and serious inaccuracies that will undoubtedly serve to misinform the American people about the tragic events surrounding the terrible attacks of that day. Furthermore, the manner in which this program has been developed, funded, and advertised suggests a partisan bent unbecoming of a major company like Disney and a major and well respected news organization like ABC. We therefore urge you to cancel this broadcast to cease Disneys plans to use it as a teaching tool in schools across America through Scholastic. Presenting such deeply flawed and factually inaccurate misinformation to the American public and to children would be a gross miscarriage of your corporate and civic responsibility to the law, to your shareholders, and to the nation.
The Communications Act of 1934 provides your network with a free broadcast license predicated on the fundamental understanding of your principle obligation to act as a trustee of the public airwaves in serving the public interest. Nowhere is this public interest obligation more apparent than in the duty of broadcasters to serve the civic needs of a democracy by promoting an open and accurate discussion of political ideas and events. [...]
Should Disney allow this programming to proceed as planned, the factual record, millions of viewers, countless schoolchildren, and the reputation of Disney as a corporation worthy of the trust of the American people and the United States Congress will be deeply damaged. We urge you, after full consideration of the facts, to uphold your responsibilities as a respected member of American society and as a beneficiary of the free use of the public airwaves to cancel this factually inaccurate and deeply misguided program. We look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Who in the press will stick up for ABC's right to air this miniseries without having its broadcast license threatened?

Excellent, and thanks!
"Paging the ACLU, Hello, are you there??? Hello....."

(Unfortunately, it's also true.....)
OUCH! MY EYES!
They're busy defending the rights of gun owners. /s
Exactly, this is a textbook example of attempted government intimidation right out in the open.
PING
The letter is on Reid's website as a press release.
