Excellent article.
The Republicans should be running around making these very points, instead of half agreeing with the Dems.
Read later.
I want my country back, thanks for the excellent article.
And even worse and what I REALLY cannot stand, listening to Republicans trying to please the liberal media with their stance on issues like the Iraqi Freedom mission in Iraq. For some reason too many Republicans think that they have to be loved by the liberal media and they talk like it all the time. The liberal media is the enemy of freedom & liberty and they have to be defeated just as do the overwhelming majority of today's democratic party and their supporters.
I wake up thinking these exact same thoughts....
Yep. Those Republicans wanna bees for 2008 who are trying to pandering to the Junk Media by trying to be on both sides on Iraq have lost my vote. If they are unwilling to speak truth to the Talking Heads now, they SURE would not be willing to make the tough calls as President.
Great article and it's based on nothing but common sense, something the Dem Party is sorely lacking.
Good post, jdm, thanks.

The WWII or the Vietnam model, which will prevail in this war? Gen Clarke is saying the same things about the iraqi army as Gen Westmoreland was saying about the south vietnamese army 35 years ago. You may be too young to remember : it was costing $250,000 just to kill one vietcong soldier on average, what's the terrorist's kill-price now in iraq? We repubicans agree with GWB on the mission, it's just the COST that's becoming burdensome. To wit, we'd better see the POSITIVE results in iraq, and SOON, wasteful spending by corrupt people, americans as well as iraqis, isn't acceptable anymore. The american people are getting fed up with supposedly rebuilding iraq and seeing only paltry returns.
Try reading the article. Read it multiple times if necessary. And quit whining, it's unseemly.
If you think the Iraqi war is costly, why don't you figure out the cost of rebuilding NY or LA, and the US economy after a nuke attack.
The direct cost of the WTC attack was over $80 Billion, and that doesn't count the costs to the economy of the damage to the transportation and travel industry.
I personaly rather pay for Iraq's reconstruction, than that of some US cities after some nuke attacks.
Muslims are still killing Muslims but that's just what Muslims do when there are no Jews Christians or other infidels to murder. Sunnis were killing Shias and visa versa for hundreds of years before we got there. Saddam even killed himself a few hundred thousand of them. What is going on today is not war anymore. It does not even rate as civil war -- not in the islamic world. It's just Islam, business as usual.
And another thing, when you write the word "American," capitalize it.
Big Word Brilliance Excellent post. BTTT
