Deeply regretting his actions, he said it was wrong of the medical staff "to deny those parents the opportunity to grieve".
He wrote: "Hardest to live with is the knowledge that I caused another human being more distress in death than she would have had dying naturally. This baby would have died within a few hours. Why, why did I have to interfere?"
At least he understands the horrific error of his actions.

My sister's friend gave birth to a severely malformed/genetic defected baby. They held their baby for the 4 hours he lived, took pictures, they were the most precious hours they could have ever had. They exhumed her grandfather and buried their son with him. Their quote, "he was perfect." I feel sorry for this doctor, I feel sorry for the family that missed the opportunity to look into the eyes of their child and tell her how much she was loved. Prayers for them all.

Just proves there is no moral difference between abortion and murder.

I have always heard that in earlier times a severely disabled newborn was simply "not resuscitated" at birth.
Quite a difference between that and smothering it with a pillow, though. How sad.

I had a cousin born in 1983 with severe birth defects. He only lived for four days. My aunt held him in her arms as he died and she and my uncle say that they would not trade those few days for everything in the world.

Twenty LONG minutes to snuff out the life of this little angel. It's amazing that the will to live could be so strong in an anencephalic baby.

Do British physicians take a Hippocratic oath? One of the essential elements of the Hippocratic oath is "I will prescribe regimen for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgement and never to do harm to anyone"

The baby would have lasted about two days - why kill the baby? Yes, I'm glad this doctor's conscience is bothering him and the prosecutors are getting busy. What was the point of killing the baby?
To: Kitten Festival
What is the point of killing any baby, healty or not, born or unborn.

Zackly. There's no point at all. Utterly unnecessary, utterly barbaric, something not even pagans or cave people would do.
To: stm
Killing babies is something thugs do. That doctor crossed the line and chose to become a thug. Just sickening.
To: Kitten Festival
Barbaric barely scratches the surface of the depravity of killing babies.
