Yup,the Ruskies were pretty good at altering photos. One minute, you're a hero of the proletariat and the next minute, you never existed.
Thanks to Photoshop and a sympathetic press, the 9th Century knuckledraggers are elevating fauxtography to an entirely new level.

Schieffer was crying because Katie had him by the short hairs to make sure that he didn't change his mind about leaving.

Your point is well taken, but how many young people, say under 25, watch the CBS Evening News? Not many. Just look at the advertisers list.

Schieffer was crying because just like in this story nobody knows what the hell he does on Sunday Morning. I guess there are so few viewers that even the Author of this article declined to mention his "slay the Nation "gig. Going back to being a White House reporter trumps going back to a show nobody knows (or cares) exists.

The "Under 25" demographic watches Viacommie's Comedy Central "news" broadcasts The Daily Show and the Colbert Report.
They'll get to the minds full of mush one way or another.

Yep. I felt the same way - although CBS's reporters were still as flaming liberal as ever, Scheiffer seemed to at least try to keep it under his hat.
To: P.O.E.
I remeber seeing him on some Face the Nation shows and he was just as slanted as Russert on MTP.

Sorry - but what's the significance of that photo? I recognize Stalin but... ?
To: COUNTrecount
Don't worry. Scheiffer will undoubtedly perk up again on Monday, assuming he is one of the few who still bother to tune in SeeBS Smooze broad-casts.

I could still see Jon Stewart making a move to the anchor desk on a broadcast network (even if the nightly news became more of a hybrid of the Tonight Show, the Today Show, and the Daily Show; maybe it'd just be called The Show).
