I suppose I'm guilty here of vanity abuse, but this Armitage individual needs to be excoriated.

Richard Armitage is a low coward who let others take the heat for what he did, at great personal and professional cost

He's lower then a coward

Need to know exactly what Armitage said and under what circumstances. What were the questions by the reporter? Lots of unanswered details here. Did Armitage know what Rove and Libby said? Did Armitage voluntarily talk about Plame with no probing?

What is the big deal? Novak told Fitzpatrick right from the beginning that Armitage told him. Armitage was my guess way back when this thing broke when Novak said we would be surprised and that it wasnt a political person.

Why get on Fitzpatrick for not being forthcoming and announcing that he told Novak when neither Libby nor Rove fessed up to anything they did until they were sitting before Grand Jury (and in the case of Libby, not even then). Besides he told his boss as soon as he saw the report.

Oopps I meant Armitage, not Fitzpatrick.

Armitage should have come out and claimed credit for outing an Al Qaeda mole inside the CIA. His actions are that of a moderate Powell type.

As of yesterday's "Meet the Press" program, it still was not conclusive that Armitage was indeed the culprit. If so, shouldn't Libby be exonerated and returned to work?

I think there should be a certain amount of anger towards Robert Novak for causing this whole mess and "sidetracking" Karl Rove from what he needs to be doing, i.e. helping us hold onto the House and Senate.

Need to know exactly what Armitage said and under what circumstances.

You need to know that to determine if Armitage is guilty of leaking classified information. To know that Armitage is guilty of at least a gross moral failure, we only need to know that Armitage said nothing to the Fitzgerald investigation or to the press when coming clean would have prefented a great deal of harm that came to others, and to our war effort in Iraq.

Armitage and Powell really wanted to harm Cheney.

For that they will be deified by the MSM.

The Man Who Said Too Much (Newsweek and Isikoff busts Armitage)

(snip)
Armitage, a well-known gossip who loves to dish and receive juicy tidbits about Washington characters, apparently hadn't thought through the possible implications of telling Novak about Plame's identity. "I'm afraid I may be the guy that caused this whole thing," he later told Carl Ford Jr., State's intelligence chief.

Journalistic ethics prevented Novak from publicly revealing Armitage's role. Armitage had to do that himself, and he failed.

I totally agree, IG. From here on out, getting Armataged is the equivalent of getting dropped in the (hot) grease.

Thats the question. Comming clean of what? What did Armitage say and to who? Quote me his words. I'm in the dark on this as I have not seen anything on what he said.

Armitage is the source of the leak of Valerie Plame's classified CIA status to Novak and also to Woodward.

Armitage's role thus remained that rarest of Washington phenomena: a hot secret that never leaked.

BS. People on this board had Armatage pegged as Novak's source 2 years ago.

I was thinking that Libby and Rove were armitaged by Armitage. He may not have set them up to take his fall, but he was willing to let them take it.
