Make sure all you Buchanan haters place your comments denouncing and ridiculing Pat's beliefs right here. Maybe in the future some people will read these remarks and see how downright dumb some FReepers were back in August of 2006.
Please, tell us how you really feel.
Whenever I see posts like this I feel like devouring a danish.
All Bush's fault.
Buchanan loves to espouse his Bircher philosophy--He doesn't mind immigrants as long as they are white...
In 2061 Vulcan immigrants will overwhelm our public services and destroy the country.
Buchanan nails it.
We have laws on the books right now regarding immigration. I simply want them enforced. Such an idea was once considered common sense and past presidents have actually enforced immigration laws. In a post 9-11 world, it is a matter of national security to enforce the border. Failing to do so is a failure to uphold the Constitution and a breech of contract with the American people.
You know that's a crock of feces, right?
Bingo!
The Roman Empire continued until thumped by the Turks using Cannon in 1453. The Trebizond remnant continued until 1461.
Rome lasted from -753, the traditional founding of the city, to 1453, some 2000 years.
Every government is presented problems. They solve them, or not. The Romans continued solving problems for a long time after the Goths, and a long time after the battle at Adrianopolos.
Pat is wrong on history, and wrong on policy.
This would have been a lot more important if it weren't already too late.
"Spain fell because it was a state in "a deep crisis that affected the efficacy
and stability of its political, military, juridical, ecclesiastical, economical,
and social structures".... The Kingdom of Toledo had experienced in the
forty years before the invasion a series of rebellions and upheavals that
resulted in the disintegration of central authority and misgovernment
at every level. .... The government complicated matters with increasingly
harsh taxation and the devaluation of gold coins. It is not surprising that the
economic difficulties were reflected in the deterioration of quality of life.
Abortions became common; babies were left to die or were sold into slavery.
".... While the poverty level increased among the middle and lower classes,"
the rich tended to become richer as they extended their lands and gained legal control
over the poor, who often lost free status to become serfs. At the same time,
poverty pushed many to become bandits, others to seek safety as hermits
in locations far away from inhabited centers, others to seek spiritual refuge
in ancient cults from the pagan past, and others to choose the ultimate act
of despair, suicide.... Lack of loyalty and misbehavior were present at
all levels of life, even among the privileged people. The aristocrats were
ready to betray the loyalty that they had sworn to the crown; the kings
were unable to check the rapacious policies of their tax collectors and
of the nobility.... It was a condition that called either for disintegration
of central power or for the reception of any benevolent invader
who promised a better world."

Yes Pat, but you won't. Next question.
"This isn't about immigration, it's about fear of brown people"
Is that you Dane?
John Birch was mostly (90%)CORRECT , you know?...
Maybe you don't know.. Joseph McCarthy was mostly CORRECT ALSO...
I fear Pat is right about this one/
Sorry dude. America is not ruined, despite the left's best efforts and right wing chicken-littlism.
Mexicans are white.
