This is all designed to irritate Bin Laden enough that he comes out of hiding with his favorite wives (and goats) just to prove the story false.
Normally, I don't look kindly on "celebrities" who recover from wastrelhood & preach to others about the evils of substance abuse; I think they actually glamorize it: "See, you too can stew your brains in poison, become a pathetically helpless addict, recover miraculously whenever you get bored with the head-in-the-toilet routine, & end up looking like a Vogue cover on Oprah! No permanant damage done, kids!".
But the depths of Ms. Houston's disintegration are so well documented, the damage done to her life & her family so extreme, that if God willing she ever does get away from her POS husband and rejoin the human race again, she will make a powerful advocate for the anti-drug & alcohol forces in the black community. Heck, in any community.
Most addicts have to hit "rock bottom" in order to see the light at the end & climb out; she's been living her life at zero altitude for so long, it's hard to fathom that she has any memory of what light even looks like. Prayers for her family.

Actually, I think porn has had a large influence as well, since they often refer to "Americans trading wives", etc. Great for soft-core porn storylines... but in real life, who wants to disappoint TWO women instead of just one? ;^)
