As usual, Dr. Sowell nails it. I wish our pols and president would discuss and debate the peril our civilization faces with such clarity. "... what will future generations think of us, that we let this happen because we wanted to placate "world opinion" by not acting "unilaterally"?" Yes, what will they think?
