My husband and pastor went to Catholic school and the brothers there were not opposed to hitting the kids in their faces and causing nosebleeds. No discipline problems there after that. He scared the crap out of them. Not a bad thing considering what's going on in most schools today.
Well, they don't have to worry about MY joining that church. Yeck...
Most men do NOT like being taught by women. I don't know if that's a pride thing or what, but they really don't.
I don't want to sit under anyone who's not anointed by the Holy Spirit to preach OR teach. I don't even want to hear a Christian sing a solo if that song isn't anointed. If it doesn't touch the heart, don't bother. God is moving in a mighty way through women in these last times but some women AND men should never preach or teach because they don't have that gift. Also, I believe that if a woman is to teach, she needs to have the covering of a male -- pastor or one in authority.

Will I go to hell because I enjoy my Christmas tree? I have many beautiful memories hanging on those branches in the form of colored lights and ornaments given to me by certain friends, some of whom have passed away. I love the way it looks in a darkened room and it actually makes me feel closer to God during the time it's up. I worship Christ, not the tree, but I sure do enjoy it.
Hi page. I'd heard that the thorn could have been his baldness, which was considered a bad thing in those days. It could also have been some kind of sickness. But, we'll all find out one day when we get to see him in heaven. I wonder if we'll even bother to ask?
I found that to be true. In fact the church I attend now is a charismatic bible-believing and teaching church and we have a lot of young families. The men are pretty good about helping out with VBS but I don't see a whole lot of them teaching SS. They do a lot of other things though. Don't know what it is about SS that folks feel inadequate to teach or what it is....

Judson Cornwall's preacher was a woman, Fuchsia Pickett. She was called by God at the age of 17 to be a preacher. She's dead now, I think, but was very, very old and back in her youth, this was virtually unheard of. If God calls you, do you say, uh, no, I can't because I'm only a woman? I think not. I do believe, however, that some have refused for that very reason.
I think I've given plenty information for those with listening ears and hearing hearts to hear The Spirit on the topic.
In my vast travels in Christendom, I've often ran into folks for whom a million petty things were reason for fierce offense.
I think THE MESSAGE version translates better than most the very down to earth language of Scripture. In many places God pokes fun at the puffed up super religious.
I think when He isn't crying over them, He's laughing uproariously.
So why then do you not do those things that your masters voice has asked you to do? Be ye not only hearers of the word but doers also.

When I was a child, my mother, and not my dad, taught me scripture. What's the problem?
I remember going to a women's meeting at a local restaurant (Christian Women's Club) and the singer didn't show up. An older woman got up and sang a hymn. She couldn't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow but I cried throughout the entire song because God anointed her. I've never forgotten that. It was so powerful. I've personally sung songs that God anointed and it's a wonderful experience. Some of the songs I sing are ones I just sing to Him during worship. They come from my heart and I just sing during that particular time in worship when that can happen. I've been to women's meetings at Elim Bible Institute when this kind of musical weaving takes place. It's dynamic. I'm hoping it comes more and more to our church, which is an Elim church. Our new pastor spoke on being a worshipping church this past Sunday. I believe it will come more and more as we drop some of our religious spirits, which hinders the flow of God.
