Ahmadinejad picked August 22nd to make it more pointed to the Muslim world when he defies the Great Satan by announcing that they reject America's offer of a bribe (or, if you will, "foreign aid") to stop their nuclear program. For emphasis they are undergoing military drills and missile tests over the weekend. This will enhance his bid to become the leader of the worldwide jihad, above Nasrallah and Osama Bin Ladin.
