Larry is such a drooling leftie stooge. Maybe jackass Larry hasn't figured out in his brilliant 25 years of intel expertise that (1) absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, the UK is a big country and there are zillions of possible places where the plotters may have hidden stuff; (2) the training and practice sessions could very well have been held in Pakistan or other Islamist hideouts; (3) at any instant a bombmaking pro could arrive from overseas and prep the materials and bombers, finalize the details of the plot, etc. (4) people who refer to not everyone having passports, no airline tickets, etc. as a reason for complacency are idiots -- airline tickets can be purchased very quickly (so long as they could find the seats they needed), it may well be that there are enough plotters (including some unknown so far) who DO have passports in hand, etc.

This is not like a truck-bombing where at least several days might be required to bring together all the elements -- just from what has been reported so far I'd bet they could have been within a matter of days of pulling this off.

A new report is available for download from the Nine Eleven Finding Answers (NEFA) Foundation website titled, "The Jihadists of Pakistan: Jaish-e-Muhammad (JEM), Harakat ul-Mujahideen (HUM), and Anjuman Sipah-e-Sahaba (SSP)." The document is based upon an expert witness report that I submitted on behalf of federal prosecutors in the recent case of United States v. Hamid Hayat (U.S. Dist. Court for the Eastern District of California, CR#05-240GB). The report contains a detailed discussion of Pakistan-based military training camps used by JEM and HUM, and further analysis of what has become of those camps under the so-called "Regime of Controlled Freedom."

In related news, Time Magazine is now reporting that one of the British suspects detained in Pakistan as part of the ongoing airline terror investigation is related through inter-marriage to a top leader of JEM (formerly of HUM), Maulana Masood Azhar.

Thats precisely how the first World Trade Center attack was pulled off. They assembled a group of loser-wannabe-terrorists who didn't know what to do, and then brought in a specialist from Iraq to lead them.
