If you see just one? Even if you see a 50-1 outpouring of support for our troops from Dearborn's darker skinned citizens? I'd say that borders on irrationality.

And why should there be no signs supporting Islam? This is the whole point, that Dearborn is home to thousands of good Muslim citizens.

Ummmmmmm... To answer your question, I'll remind you of your original post on this thread... ...an article saying it is a march to remember the victims of 9/11. Not the Islam culture nor Hezbollah.

You want to ignore this, fine by me. I choose not to...

I realize what the march is for, I was thinking you might be objecting to signs saying something like "Islamic Americans Support our Troops." I guess that's not what you meant.

I suspect that if there are any other less patriotic signs, they'll be on the sideline, not in the walk itself.

A lot of us are quick to sneer at Dearborn, but the silence from the rest of the state is deafening. I'm pretty disturbed that there's nothing planned here in Lansing.

As my flaming liberal boss (here in Michigan) told me: "Everyone is like soooo over 9/11"

I work in an office of 120 - I am probably the ONLY conservative. I have broached the subject of doing something on 9/11 - even maybe just a moment of silence. No one but me is interested.

I'm sure if I proposed a "Hillary for President" rally, they would already be printing up the signs.

Too bad most people in Dearborn will be honoring Muhammad Attah during this parade.

Be careful about jumping to conclusions. I remember this day in Dearborn very well:

April 10, 2003

DEARBORN, Mich. — Hundreds of Iraqis in Dearborn celebrated the apparent fall of Saddam Hussein's regime Wednesday, spilling into the streets, honking horns, waving flags and partying into the night at a city park.

About 1,000 people congregated at 5 p.m. EDT in Hemlock Park, dancing, hooting and hastily scrawling signs that praised the United States and condemned Hussein.

One read: "Bye-Bye Saddam Forever."

Another declared: "FROM DICTATORSHIP TO FREEDOM."

Chanting "Down with Saddam," the crowd was mostly jubilant. But at one point, dozens of people confronted a camera crew from the Al-Jazeera satellite TV network, accusing them of being against the war.

"Shame on you. Shame on you," one man yelled. The crowd booed loudly; the crew retreated behind police lines, where many still heckled them.

The revelry began in the morning, shortly after 11, when U.S. troops in Iraq helped civilians topple a large, metal statue of Hussein in a Baghdad square. The symbolic fall of the regime set off jubilation in Dearborn and abroad.

In the predominantly Shiite Muslim neighborhoods of east Dearborn, men emerged from homes and businesses to congregate, many with tears streaming down their faces.

Some chanted "U-S-A! U-S-A!" and "Thank you, George Bush!"

A lot of businesses take their cues from what the state is doing, and I can tell you that the state is planning nothing. Niente. In a lot of ways, your flaming liberal boss is right. It makes my stomach turn. I really hate to admit it, but it would take a 9/11 style attack to remind a helluva lot of Americans what we're up against.

You might be right that there are more churches, but by far the mosque is the largest.

It is very large, but so would be a Catholic church in Dearborn, if there weren't 5 or 6 of them in the area. The mosque draws people not just from Dearborn, but Detroit, Allen Park, and Detroit suburbs.

Is Greenfield Village there? I have fond memories of a field trip there. People should realize that Dearborn and many surrounding areas in Michigan and Ontario have had strong Arab and Muslim populations for over eighty-five years now.

Greenfield Village is still there, a real nice place to visit, full of history and fun. Also the Henry Ford Museum. Now the whole complex is called "The Henry Ford" and don't ask me why.

And you're absolutely right. Arab and Arab-American Muslims have been living peacefully in Dearborn for a long long time.

Diverse meaning alot of anti-American, anti-Israeli hate speech, which is uniquely politically correct.
