What is with these people. . .'wildlife. . .'animal control'. . .you would think this was in the public interest. You would think these folks whose business IS animals would be more than curious.

Ok, now I say Chow-lab mix. It has the shorter legs of a lab as well as a coat characteristics of young one. The tail is also a good cross between the longer thing lab tail and the shorter, curly/fluffy chow tail. I wonder if they will test for rabies.

Yep. Chows have blue lips and tongues, so it's probably some kind of chow mix...and probably semi-retarded which might explain the weird noises it was making.

I'm betting on a Chow hybrid of some sort. Looks like it got mostly Chow--not only the black tongue, but the black skin you can see in the full body shot. Tail is a bit wierd, and the skull is not quite right, but it is definitly some version of a Canid.
