"BTW, those "Paratroopers" are mainly guys who are already out of the service and those pictures only booster my claims the Russian military is a joke. "
Nice try tovarich - but no one here is buying your line that the "Russians are nothing to worry about".
Russia is destabilizing all our areas of interest with cheap weapons and I despise your efforts to spread your disinformation.
I guess it just depends on one's perspective. I think the fact that the UN (UNIFIL) who has been in that area of southern Lebanon patrolling the "Blue Line" failed to notify the UN that Hez'bollah was building massive bunkers and stocking them with an arsenal from Syria and Iran for the last six years. This, to me, shows a complicity on the part of the UN.
If you go to the UNIFIL website and read their background, how they went to Lebanon way back in 1978 and the annual reports submitted from the Secretary General to the UN there is no mention of the bunkers, of the transporting in of massive amounts of weapons.
When do we, the US, take off our rose colored glasses in regard to the UN and put away our check book?
As far as Israel, yes, the military was hobbled by the politicians. At least it seems that way. But I have a feeling that Israel did not know the extent of how well armed Hez'bollah was and this is why I mentioned UNIFIL. If they had done their job in the first place Israel would have had known they were fighting an arm of Iran instead of an armed "militia" or resistance group.
Now they know. This cease fire gives Israel a chance to regroup.
It is the whole meme of Israel losing the war against Hez'bollah and those who echo this who should know better.
Like Bibi, pointing fingers. When we say Israel lost we are supporting Nas'rallah's claim. And it is simply not true. This conflict is far from over.
I cannot stand this McDonald's mentality that some people have. If a war is not over in fifteen minutes then we lost.
You go first General Arm Chair Commander, sir!
How long are you going to continue to disparage and discount American veterans' service to country?
Are you going to explain why you felt it was more important to become a hard currency tourist for the Soviets than it was to join the fight against communism in Vietnam?
How long are you going to refuse to condemn your Ukrainian Nationalist-Socialist brothers who wish harm on America?
Absolutely, Very good point! I guess that I was lucky that although I attended Northern California schools (class of '84 in Political Science) and not a Christian at the time I always seemed to have Jewish friends and/or mentors; I sometimes call myself the most Zionist Irish boy around.
:D
I'm a lapsed Catholic but also very proud to be called an Honorary Jew.
I disagree. He was completely united with the Israeli government when the guns were firing. I think now is *exactly* the time for assigning blame where it's due, and figuring out how to do better in future.
