"We need to eradicate them. They're an obstacle to peace,"
Yep.
Time for Olmert to grow and pair and do what needs to be done.
If he can't do it , he'd better step aside so a guy that can look after business takes over.

"A group of armed Hezbollah terrorists approached an IDF force in the south Lebanon village of Hadatha," an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson told the Israel News Agency. ==
Terrorists ar ethose who blow themselves up in the population center. Hezzies are guerillas.

He can't mean that?? Under this "favorable agreement" Shebaa Farms is up for grabs.. and the two kidnapped soldiers are not mentioned. This is favorable?

What the IDF needs at this point is a weapon (which is probably only in my dreams) that will taze them from a distance.
I think the Hizb'Allah idjits want to die, but are totally whoosies. Taze them a few times and they won't want to come back.

I don't think anyone expected for life to be peachy....all we expected was for UN peaceniks to be appeased with a brief ceasefire before the next big battle explodes. I say let war settle this....war is good sometimes in regards to settling things.

People who fire rockets randomly into civilian areas are terrorists, not guerrillas.

Olmert is falling right into the [transparent] trap the Hezzies set for him:
1) Israel will be held to a truce not endorsed by its enemy.
2) Iraelis have no reassurance that they can safely return to the North. Can Olmert tell them it's safe?
3) Does Olmert stand down the reserves? If so, he risks leaving remaining troops vulnerable. If not, Israel's economy goes in the tank. Either way, he loses.
4) The IDF troops left in Lebanon become sitting ducks, both politically and physically. Even though Hez hasn't lived up to the U.N. requirements, within days Kofi will denounce the continued "occupation" of Lebanese territory and will blame Israel for any breaches.
In other words, I don't see how Israel could have come out of this any worse. Hezbollah hasn't given up anything and now has the luxury of picking the time and place to restart the war...a time when they can blame Israel...i.e., anytime.

Hezbollah thought Israel wouldn't react. I don't think they'll try that again.

This is exactly why Olmert and his government need to go. The top military brass need to be forced into retirement. All of them have been responsible for the current debacle.

Earlier reports of this incident said that one terrorist was hit and wounded by the gunfire and that he and the others withdrew from the area.

I agree with all your points.
Olmert is beter off going back to the court room.
And Israel will be better off with him gone as well.
Guy's clearly not ready for prime time.
Maybe people will begin to appreciate more how tough and consistent Bush has been on the WOT, despite constant attacks from rhge drive-vy's and the RATS.
The good thing is, if heaven forbid anything were to happen to President Bush, Cheney is going to be every bit as tough as Bush is, if not even tougher.
Can't say the same thing for Olmert after Sharon got taken ill.

no those are suicide/homicide bombers and are terrorists, but you don't have to blow yourself up to be a terrorist. I heard hezbollah invented the suicde bomber, but they don't kill themselves any more. They are still terrorists.

I didn't know that Hezbollah was a member nation of the United Nations. How can the UN broker a ceasefire between a sovereign nation and a terrorist organization?
