Wow, Fox have been talking about this for 4 days and even Debka hasn't picked it up yet? ;-)

"Did Fox mention where this came from? Nothing on the wires or in local Israeli news sources I can see."

IDF Sources

'Count on this: Israel will move when they see an act of war and it doesn't mean a shot has been fired by Syria. Any rocket launch by Hizbus could be that act of war. It's just when Israel gets that gut feeling that it's going down now.'

Maybe. Remember now they have either a pussy for PM, or pussy generals. See how they handled the first 3 weeks of this war. I hope I'm wrong; but I think this PM needs to go very quick.

Was it reported on FR? Seems like a detail like this wouldn't be overlooked.

They destroyed every Hezzie command post, missile launcher, fuel depots, bridges, bunkers, etc. They fought it as a conventional war against a cowardly terrorist organization. They tried to minimize civiallian casualities by dropping warnings all over the place.

There was a recent news story saying that the US Defense Dept. was concerned with "Syria's confidence." IMHO Syria is watching closely the aggressive taking of S.Lebanon and is nervous as the Israelis are using Blitzkrieg tactics.

See how they handled the first 3 weeks of this war.

Extreme concern to avoid collateral damage even at the cost of warning targets and losing some of their own troops. They are very, very strong to be able to do this.

Israel has the cards now and when the Hezzies launch a single missile, the US will shrug it's shoulders and say "Oh well, Lebanon didn't abide by the resolution so Israel do what you have to do."

I hope you are right. I agree, this ceasefire will never work. Friday was a shameful act of appeasement by Rice. Bush needs to come out, support Israel, and tell Rice to STFU on her 'diplomacy works' crap.

Yeah, the mine clearing is almost definitely to prepare for an advance on Hezz's part.

I don't know what they're thinking though. Even 30 year old aircraft can take out armor no problem. With satellite technology these days the aircraft doesn't even need to get close enough to sight the target. It's just there to launch the missiles, so even stinger missiles wouldn't cover Hezz from airpower. And this is all assuming that WE don't get involved.

Maybe I'm just overestimating the mind of Islamofacists (again).

Syria is reportedly removing land mines along their border with Israel.

Let me get this straight, not only it means Syria can cross the border into Israel.

More importantly, Israel can now cross the border into Syria. And Syria has old tanks. Sound like a recipe for extreme stupidity to me.

Can someone get Assad on the phone please?

Syria won't go into a conventional war with Israel, especially if they are winning through their proxy, Hezbollah.

Which is why I highly doubt they'd try it.
