"When people finally get around to seeing the strategy, they'll come out and say they knew it all along."

No kidding. I plan to call em on it if they do.

Wonder what some posters would have said back during WWI and WWII?????

"The US is taking too long to get ready to respond to Pearl Harbor."
"It's taking too long to get rid of Hitler. We need to Nuke East Berlin."

"I agree that Israel has always had the high ground, but all they have done is emboldened Hezbollah, Syria and, most ominously, Iran."

I disagree. The MSM is feeding the lies of the Hez to us, the "we won" crap. Don't believe it.

Syria and Iran just got defanged. They were wanting this to escalate and for the Israeli's to attack them. Then they would be justified in attacking Israel.

The nutjob of Iran is gonna have a hard time stoking the fires of hate with Israel following a limited and conditional cease-fire. Now, Iran and Syria are the ones that have to violate UN resolutions to further their plans of the 12th Immam.

The leader of Iran's plan is falling apart. As it does, he will fall from power.

"Now really, if we killed every single Muslim, besides feeling a little guilty for a couple of minutes, would the world be better off or worse?"

If we did so, we would be guilty of genocide. It is the fanatical leaders, and the Mullahs that we need to control, or eliminate. They are fighting to keep their power, and using the Muslim religion to do so. They keep their populations dirt poor, ignorant, and scared so that they can continue to stay in power.

We have the same tactic being used here in the U.S.
I'm just waiting for Hillary to declare she's a Muslim. It's about the only option she has left.

"My biggest regret is that this useless "holy man" didn't catch a bullet."

It seems they never do. The holy men hide well. They convince their followers to die for them while they cringe in some corner.

i had been puzzling about Israel's acceptance of the cease-fire and listening closely to the Israeli officials commenting on it, and i reached the same conclusion that you have. they waited til they got language, that if adhered to, to the letter, would bring them what they want, fully cognizant of the fact that Hizbollah will NOT adhere and they will then be able to proceed, with impunity, to defend themselves.

You must be joking. They [Bush and Rice] gave Israel a green light to attack. Olmert/Peretz would not let the IDF wage a winning war. They pulled their punches and let Hezbollah beat them. They did not want to fight. They wanted the U.S. to get them the best deal they could get at the U.N. Olmert/Peretz will go down in infamy.

We did give Israel a green light, but only for awhile until we put the familiar peace squeeze on the good guys. You are absolutely right about Olmert/Peretz, and that they will be thrown out. But our recent pressure on Olmert to accept a negotiated settlement with a terrorist organization shows that Bush also turned out to be less resolute than he first appeared. Hizb'Allah is on the ropes, and Ahmadinejad's cries to save his proxy are now being heeded by Europe and by Foggy Bottom.

If this deal goes forward, the damage to Israel will be great. Israel will have destroyed Lebanon's infrastructure without freeing the Lebanese of their Hizb'Allah captors. Olmert's political successor will be saddled with a binding settlement that might make it illegal for Israel to do this again -- and by leaving Hizb'Allah intact, it is guaranteed that Israel will have to re-enter Lebanon. And worse, Hizb'Allah will be legitimized as a quasi-state by an internationally sanctioned deal to which both Israel and Hizb'Allah are parties. Terrorists of all stripes will be emboldended to fight on -- since Western acquiescence will reward them with moral equivalence and with UN recognition and support.

The West is looking for a tactical way out, but is making a strategic blunder. The stakes next time will be much higher.

I hope you are right, and suspect that this is the case in the minds of Israel's current leadership. But there is great danger in such a complicated strategy that assumes so much. Once a deal is struck, a moral equivalence will be assumed, and there will be great pressure upon Israel to keep its side of the deal regardless of what the other side does or does not do. (Remember Oslo?) If Hizb'Allah is not crushed, it will have won.

Boy, it must be nice to live in a dream world. Israel`s goal was the destruction on Hezbollah and making Israel safer. Did they do it? No! They certainly killed a bunch of nutbags, but there is no shortage of them in that part of the world. Hezbollah recruitment will soar.
Iran and Syria are stronger because they can say that Hezbollah was saved, in part by them. They can now say that Israel and America can`t defeat them and, they now have proof.

"Israel`s goal was the destruction on Hezbollah"

Was it? Or was it to stop Hizb'allah from attacking Israel?

" and making Israel safer."

This I agree with. We will see if they are closer to that goal or not.

"Hezbollah recruitment will soar."

Possible. Also possible is that Hizb'allah has been exposed for what they are (the military arm of the Mullahs and proxy military for Iran and Syria) and they did not accomplish what they were supposed to. Provoke Israel into making major attacks on Lebanon (citizenry), Iran, and Syria.

"Iran and Syria are stronger because they can say that Hezbollah was saved, in part by them."

Iran said they are not providing arms to Hizb'allah. They are already backing down. They lost this match.

"They can now say that Israel and America can`t defeat them and, they now have proof."

Wait a few more weeks before you are so sure of your conclusions. Hizb'allah is on the run, and their weapons will likely be taken away. Iran won't be able to claim Israel is marching through Lebanon and destroying Muslims, so they have lost their pawn. Syria won't do anything without Iran.

Israel will do cleanup in Lebanon, and their isn't much Iran can do about it.

We must get rid of AHMANUTJOB and NESRALLAH. That will remove the funding and power behind the Mullahs.

I am sure you disagree, but what is your solution?

Wipe out all the Muslims? That's genocide. That's what Iran wants us and Israel to try. It is pivotal to their plan that we attempt to kill all Muslims. If we do, we are no better than the Muslims.

Remove the head and the body will die.

Those that think (I use that word with a smile) that the solution to terrorism is to kill all the Muslims are three tacos short of a combo plate. I do think that we will be cursed with terrorists until we go back to were it all started, Iran, and clean house. Till then, the free world is just rearanging the deck chairs.

If we are going to win this war, common sense says that we, the free people on this Earth, must band together. What one does, effects all the rest of the countries. Israel, lets be honest, didn`t win and now, like it or not, Hezbollah, is stronger.

But Hezbollah's having 'second thoughts' about disarming. Oh, well, who cares. It's the sentiment that counts, peace at any price. (If Israeli's don't like living in bomb shelters they should get out.) Let's impeach Bush for supporting Israel. (This will be the new dem plan.)

ok...not every single muslim... but if we start by hunting down and killing everyone of the "mullahs" and leaders who want "death to America"...then lets just do it.

they hate us already...what are they gonna do??? Strap bombs on themselves and kill our kids and parents?...(done that)

Fly planes into major metro areas and kill a couple of thousand people..??? (done that)

video tape a torture complete with slitting the throat of people they've kidnapped?....(got that covered)

Vow to kill or wipe our country off the face of the earth?....(yep)

so unless the "guilt free" muzzies speak up, then we've got to think they're all for our deaths... then I'm all for killing them.
