How far are we stretching the definition of 'Middle East' here? From Morrocco to Pakistan? That's even ignoring the fact that a number of those arrested yesterday have no Middle Eastern descent even with that defintion. I don't think geography is our main concern here.

Ok, those in England were homegrown and the Michigan college students were homegrown right here in the US, but they all seem to have ME ancestry. It's come to the point I'm lumping all Muslims, be they brown or purple, into one group.

I know that all of the people arrested in the UK are Muslim, but are they all Mid Easterners? I heard some were fairly recent converts to Islam, and that doesn't necessarily make them Mid Easterners.

How far are we stretching the definition of 'Middle East' here? Ummm....Olive colored skin, speaking with a heavy middle eastern accent and reigning from any part of the globe. That my friend is our enemy. And the sooner we wake up and smell the roses the better chance of survival we have.

Yes, I don't think Don Stewart-Whyte, one of those arrested, has any Middle Eastern heritage. I think another was West Indian as well.

Well, two of the 24 arrested in England yesterday were white, and one was a woman. And don't forget Jose Padilla and shoe bomber Richard Reid. I agree that searching toddlers and old people is absurd, but just scrutinizing Middle Eastern males could potentially let a terrorist slip through. Appearances can be deceiving, and AQ is actively trying to recruit other ethnicities.

I don't know if we can depend on our law enforcement OR Homeland Security people to be able to defend and protect us. The local cops aren't there to protect you, but to clean up after the carnage and file the proper reports.

This board is carrying posts today concerning moose-lims buying up not hundreds, but thousands of prepaid cellular phones, which just coincidently can be used to remote detonate explosives.

Will it be long before individuals are afraid to drive down the street because of IEDs?

I believe that we have a responsibility to ourselves and our families to know who the "usual suspects' are in our neighborhoods, and I will use "profiling" to that end.

Can you tell the difference between a Christian Filipino and a Moslem Filipino just by looking at him and hearing him talk? I can't. How about a Christian Kenyan and Moslem Kenyan?
