'No state funeral' for Thatcher TONY BLAIR has ruled out the possibility of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher being given a state funeral. Somebody's stepping on their crank big time. I think this is going to really piss off the queen and future king William.

Geeze, from the title of this article, I thought Lady Thatcher had died! Same here! Clicked on this thread and thought the same.
But I suppose that from the MSM, Lady Thatcher is dead and Fidel Castro is alive ........ go figure?

How would you like people making funeral arrangements for you while your alive! I guess it would make someone kinda feel like a Pharoah ... those guys were big into funeral planning.

Knighting someone like that shows what the priorities of the UK has become.
The UK needed another twenty years of Margaret Thatcher. I wish we had her as PM today for the fight we're in now.

Thanbks for the pic...The free world's first understanding that sometimes the use of force was necessary, and inevitable, was when she sent the troops to retake the Falklands..

For a minute there, I was wondering if Margaret Thatcher was still alive. I was glad to read that she's in good health. But decreeing that Thatcher will have no state funeral is a classless move from Blair.

i have read somewhere on free republic that very few PM are given state funerals and a few of those have refused it. i believe, but am not positive, that tradition dictates you be a war time PM.

I'm glad you posted this picture. This was my background picture on my laptop on several months following THE President's funeral. I still get goosebumps every time I see it.

If you have the time, can you search and post a link to Thatcher's eulogy of Reagan? It's got to be somewheres

Ugh! Great photo but it started the water works. There are not many in the public eye that have earned the title of Lady. Margaret Thatcher earned that title and I'll always appreciate her class, dignity and backbone of steal.
