A. It's just a movie

B. "publisher said Will Ferrell's "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" is "a racist, bigoted work that ridicules the Bible Belt, Southern white men, Christianity, Jesus Christ, the family, and American masculinity."

It sounds incredibly stupid, pointless and moronic.......................I can't wait to see it.

To be upset about the use of Christ's name in this movie compared to any other movie is just plain ridiculous. The people that should be offended are southern race fans in general regardless of religious affiliation. This movie is another sell-out of the fans by NASCAR for the almighty dollar. Now even NASCAR, by association and promotion are making fun of their own fan base and daring them to take notice.

The fact of the matter is that this is just another childish Will Ferrell movie. Sophomoric at best.

The sad part.... better than 3/4 of the fans don't even know when they are being ridiculed. Sigh.....

"Sam Kinnison I thought was funny.
Still remember.
"I shoulda shot you in 'Nam""

We've got deserts in America. We just don't live in them, a-hole! Get your s--t, get your kids, we'll take you where the food is!

Sam Kenison, although loud and vulgar, was exceedingly funny because he was able to point out the obvious when others were afraid to say it.

Will Ferrell is not funny to me. The commercials give me a headache. Butt....

I went to a big motorcycle meet this weekend and all of the good-old-boys thought the movie looked great and they were planning to see it. They weren't the least bit offended that someone was making fun of them.

LOL, may be, but I still don't think I'd chunk down hard earned money to see it.

Ya may just have to catch it in the hereafter. ;)

Just par for the course, hollyweird view ALL christians as religious boobs.

(medved has done a great piece on this stuff)

(s)if you are a satan worshiping, pedophile, wican, moslem atheist THEN hollyweird sees you as enlightened and educated(/s)

I think that's part of the reason Steve Martin makes so few movies these days. He's smart enough to realize when the lode's played out.

Unlike schmucks like Will Ferrell, who still think they're funny when they haven't done anything original since third grade. There are good comedians out there, don't get me wrong. But the crop starring in recent movies are lightweights and bores.

Another one that fits that mold is Adam Sandler. If I never see him again in some cornball "Average Guy Makes It Big Through Sheer Honorableness and Remembering His Humble Roots" movie, it will be fine with me.

Instead of bitching about each and every movie that comes from Hollywood...why don't we STFU and open our own production companies and make movies. I guess we are too lazy to do this and I guess at the end of the day it is easier just to complain. We will never win that way!!!

You just described the purpose of the critic Ted Baer's organization. It's to encourage and help incubate the development of more films that provide a positive view of Christian friendly themes.

Baer provides a valid and valuable perspective that balances many of the other critical perspectives out there. Hollywood needs feedback to improve its product and to indicate what resonates with audiences and what offends them.

Just as there is a market for films, there is also a market for critical perspectives.

I didn't know that. I did like him in Zoolander. And Elf. And as a cheerleader in SNL.

I just went and saw this movie. It was the most disgusting movie I have ever seen. If you think men kissing men is entertaining and making fun of Jesus is entertaining than you have no morals. We all make mistakes in our lives and one of my biggest mistake was taking my teenager to see this movie. I should have walked out and gotten our money back and I didn't. I was appalled at how it really got bad toward the end of the movie when there was more kissing of the same sex. I will never darken the lives of my family on such a movie and I have learned to look at reviews. My husband walked out toward the beginning and I wish that he had taken the lead and had us go with him. Homosexuality should not be taken so lightly in our society. The bible condemns homosexuality and this movie shows just what decay it has on our society. America was built on Christian principles. America has gone astray with its political correctedness and has turned it's back on Christianity.

thank you for speaking your mind. Many here on FR may be for low taxes and less government, but turn a blind eye to social conservative issues, or even worse, mock them.
