Films do not come out of thin air. They are products that are created and honed, often over years of development, shooting, and post-production. Movies are intentional, not accidental. And the Hollywood left wants to destory the moral fiber of society.

Hollywood believes that sex onscreen doesn't lead to lapses in morals but that a character (good or bad) who smokes "glamorizes" tobacco.
Also, for those who miss the difference between films and reality... the difference between "explicit" sex and "explicit" violence is that the body parts chopped in gory films are FAKE but the naked bits (of adults and minors) are genuine.

All this is useful information, as I consider what movies we will rent or check out from the library. My neighbor, also a homeschooling mother, said that "The Devil Wears Prada" is cute.

Not necessarily. High priced stars do have body doubles perform scenes which they themselves will not do.

That's a point. I had a discussion some time back on this subject, than in the movies, it's live nude people, no matter what their fictional relationships are ... while if I walked out on the front step with no clothes on, well, it's all over!

Nice HTML! And now I don't have to create a combined list! I'm going to copy and store it...

It's not even just the movies, watch a lot of the commercials these days! They are enough to creep anyone out!

My problem is .....
..the young teens get attached to a sweet innocent, funny Ann Hathaway....Princess Diaries I and II..
...then she segues to Brokeback Mountain..
...or Jake Gyllenhaal....so cute and cuddly in October Sky....
..and then, you guessed it...Brokeback Mountain
It might be a coincidence.....but I doubt it.....and this just names a few.

I see your point. We choose our movies on content, rather than actors. I didn't realize the actor in "October Sky" was in "Brokeback Mountain," because we don't follow young actors. It's more like, "Oh, that guy, whatsisname, was in that other movie we saw!"

Hollywood wants to totally eliminate morality. If you constantly watch it, it WILL affect how you view the world. Of course they'd also like you to believe that this is normal and GOOD for you - and "everyone is doing it". Sure some are - the DUMB ones.

This kind of argument has no credibility anymore. In the last couple decades statistics show that the violent crime rates, rape, out-of-wedlock births, etc... have all gone down, and thats while the amount of sexy and violent media has increased. If anything, it seems like this kind of media has a cathartic effect rather than a causal one.

I would suggest some deception here. If you just come out and ask a person if there are moral absolutes, with no other context, you are asking them to abandon their judgement.
"Is the color mauve good or evil? Answer 'good' or 'evil'."
"Is it right or wrong to shoot someone with a gun?"
"Is sex outside of marriage always wrong?" (What about animals?)
"Have you teenagers stopped being immoral yet?"
And yes, you may indeed have moral absolutes *in context*, once you know the individual circumstances involved.
But a person who surrenders judgement in the name of morality, becomes immoral themselves.

What I've seen of most of the 80's era teeny boppers I didn't like, although there were some obvious exceptions. But what really stuck with me that so many of the protagonists in those movies were often bratty, spoiled, hopelessly self-centered kids who we were supposed to sympathise with whenever their superficial absentee parents (technically ex-hippies) showed up. You might even see a little bit of this in films like E.T., the Goonies, Ferris Bueller, etc, but those films had a wider appeal because their plots didn't revolve around marijuana, prostitution, sex, etc. It seems like the left in this country constantly refers to the 80's as the "decade of greed", etc, but Hollywood, which has consistently been a Mecca for the left, is responsible for selling it. Hard to say whether they did so because of a prevaling ideology among script writers back then or because of ticket sales and focus groups. Maybe 90's and 00's era teen flicks are the same way, but I wouldn't know, as most of those are still relegated to the cinema and DVDs, and I don't bother with broadcast television any more.
I've always found it interesting that the founder of "People for the American Way" was responsible for beloved bigots like Archie Bunker and rather insulting sitcoms like "Diff'rent Strokes".

Evil. Only primary colors are good.

On the other hand, I suppose a number of these films are sort of comedy-morality tales. There are a films that follow the typical afterschool special plot where the protagonists make a bad decision (do drugs, etc) and go into a downward spiral from there, the end. There are also the "comedy" films where the protagonist opens pandora's box, has all of his wishes fulfilled, gets laid, etc. followed by mayhem and everything going back to normal just in the nick of time. Similar to this is the one where the protagonist who continually sinks to new lows until the end of the film where he is redeemed by some other character (girlfriend/teacher) who inexplicably decides that deep down inside the protagonist is a good person, etc.
Teeny boppers at least 50%-70% of the time are crap. On the other hand, I don't think that reflects upon the entire age group they're marketed to. I think most of the time, they're written to either appeal to the stupidest kids or (p)reach the stupidest kids.
