I do not disagree with your post. But I do think that in order for someone to be influenced by words they must already have a seed of that thought in their miserable wanker heads.

Anyone who spews anti semitic filth should be censured and make amends in ways acceptable to the people he hurt the most. The blame the Jew game has a long and ignoble history. It must be responded to and rejected by all godly men and women.

I believe Mel Gibson apology is sincere. But since actions speak louder then words a big $$$$ donation to Holocaust education projects and lots of community service working with religious Jewish groups would be a step in the right direction.

The same people who say his film was no good and he is a bad actor - give him SO much power. They will twist ANTHING to make their point. Do you know of ANYONE that changes their thinking to align themselves with a 'celebrity'? A drunk one at that!

A little hystrionic, aren't you? I didn't twist anything. As I explained to the others that freaked out over my comment- Celebrity endorsements have held enormous power since Lindberg embraced Hitler and Margaret Sanger fell in love with eugenics. You think people aren't influenced by celebrity? People are very much on the fence about Israel's role in Lebanon. Obviously, Gibson was. Do you think the timing of this freak out was just a coincedence? Pul-eeze. Who do you think is there to counter the demonization of the Israeli's in this mess? The MSM? This is a very sensative time for Israel's survival. If you think there aren't a million mush-headed people walking around giving credence to Gibson's comments, it is you who is willing to twist reality to make a point. ( Whatever it is your point was.)

Henry Ford used to put a copy of THE PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION into all the cars he made.

The blood libel, which today's Muslims use against the Jews, was started in the early middle ages and fomented by the Catholic church. But since you have no interests in facts, I won't give you and details.

I just pinged you to a thread, posted in mid May of this yea, wherein Gibson doesn't call the president names, per se, but says that he based his new film on the president and his administrations "barbaric" actions. This is a movie about ancient Mayans, BTW. Yep, President Bush goes to every football game and has the winners' sacrificed, with their hearts torn out of their quivering bodies, while still alive and without anesthetic.

High, low, your threshold of what's beyond the pale, and what isn't, is still peculiar; as is your idea of what is and isn't political.

Dear nopardons,

Mr. Ford was a bit nutty. Very successful, but a bit nutty.

However, it's one thing to believe in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in 1926, and another thing to believe it in 2006.

Ninety years ago, it was rubbish, false, slanderous, but not formally proven false.

Today, it's still rubbish, false, slanderous. As well, it's formally proven a forgery.

People who believed this garbage 80 years ago were bigots.

People who still believe this garbage now entertain delusions.

"I just pinged you to a thread, posted in mid May of this yea, wherein Gibson doesn't call the president names, per se, but says that he based his new film on the president and his administrations 'barbaric' actions. If you read what Mr. Gibson actually SAID, as opposed to what you want to infer, he compares Mr. Bush thusly:

"The fear-mongering we depict in the film reminds me of President Bush and his guys."

O! My! Mr. Gibson called President Bush a "fear-mongerer!" How frightful!!

Frankly, this is pretty mild stuff compared to what we say about Mr. Clinton and "Hitlery" and the like every day.

If you think this rises to the level of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, then I'll pray for you.

Well Tommy, sorry you feel that way. In that case I suppose you'll just have to stew in your own little vat of hate-juice.

But I'll still pray for you.

After all, Jesus Loves You.

You proclaim that yourself over at nbeaujon.com, more power to you!

First of all, THE PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION is far older than you claim it to be. It was first published, in book form ( the pamphlets were older !), in Russian in 1902. At that time, there were so few Jews, anywhere, with any kind of power, it was palpably ridiculous beyond words. And for you to now say that it wasn't yet a "proven" fraud, in 1926 ( and WHY that year? Ford and Edison and D.W.Griffith, et al had been anti-Semitics for decades prior to 1926.) is irrelevant, irrational, and more peculiar than you can imagine.

FYI...........THE PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION were actually outed as and proven to be a fraud, in 1921, when they were shown to be a version of a French satire on Louis Napoleon...Joly's "DIALOGUES AUX ENFERS ENTRE MACHIAVEL ET MONTERSQUIEU which had been written in 1865.

It was again revived in 1930, by Hitler and is still being published and sold in most Arab and Muslim countries. Heck, a couple of years ago, Egyptian T.V. made and showed a T.V. series based on it, and people there ate it up with a spoon.

Words have meanings; set meanings and that you misuse words and then object to my correct use of words, is not helpful.

In fact, THE PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION, was the FIRST world wide CONSPIRACY book ever pushed by bigots and tinfoilers. It was a "forgery", it was and still is a PROPAGANDA hit piece and a fraud.

People who believed in this 100 + years ago were no different from those who still accept it as factual.

People who believed in it 80 years ago, AFTER IT HAD BEEN PROVED FALSE FIVE YEARS EARLIER were bigots and, to use YOUR word, "delusional"!

You cherry-picked that thread and what the article said. Nice try, but try doing THAT on someone else; in me, you have more than met your match and then some.

Geraldo was just on O'Rielly. Yes, yes, he's a joke, but he said that in 2002, when he was in the Mideast and peace really seemed to be at hand, Israel was bombed, yet again. Geraldo said that he asked a higher up on Hamas, how could you let what you want slip through your fingers like that, by attacking Israel? And the Hammas guy snarled at him, "ARE YOU A JEW, ARE YOU A JEW? THE JEWS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THE WARS IN THE WORLD!". Sound familiar? It's exactly what Mel said, when he was arrested.

Oh, the "I'LL PRAY FOR YOU" gambit? Please don't...I don't need nor want your prayers and your snarky, sanctimonious, unctuous proffer is unwelcome. Go pray for yourself. Better yet....go learn some history before you decide to post about it again.

Who the heck is Tommy? There's no way you'd get the idea that is my name so I suspect it's some sort of anachronistic put down from some other generation. At any rate, it's a put down, isn't it? Not a sign of respect. Next, you proclaim that I'll have to stew in my own litte vat...blah, blah. There's a real hatred here for Hezbollah, Hamas and what they are doing to Israel and the world. Are you praying for their souls, too? If so, you're a coward. While others are fighting for your freedoms you're praying for the souls of the enemy. How silly.

I sincerely doubt Jesus, in his humility, made announcements about whose soul he was praying for. I don't believe Jesus was that arrogant or full of himself (but then, I'm an old testament kind of girl.) Yet you sit there and pass judgment on me. Not very Christian of you, is it? As far as the bumper sticker on my web site, it reads: "Jesus loves you, Allah wants you dead." Are you praying for the souls of those Islamo-fascists? Again, what a shame. Worse than that, it's a self-serving shame because you're doing it not to "save our souls" but to insure that yours gets to heaven. As I said, spare me the sanctimony. If you want to pray for me, feel free. It might carry more weight in terms of sincerity if you kept it to yourself instead of trying to use your moral piety as a punishment to those who you so clearly believe need saving, like me? The fact that you believe you are morally superior, and make such proclamations to elevate your self, is just annoying. It sure isn't Christian.

Dear nopardons,

I made no claim as to the age of the Protocols.

However, that they were proved forgeries even sooner than I'd thought is wonderful.

So, I'll adjust this sentence as follows:

"However, it's one thing to believe in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in 1906, and another thing to believe it in 2006."

"People who believed in it 80 years ago, AFTER IT HAD BEEN PROVED FALSE FIVE YEARS EARLIER were bigots and, to use YOUR word, "delusional"!"

I agree. But folks who believed it 100 years ago, before it was proven a forgery, were not delusional, only bigoted.

"You cherry-picked that thread and what the article said. Nice try, but try doing THAT on someone else; in me, you have more than met your match and then some."

LOL. This statement verges on incoherent. I'll shake a bit more in my boots if you can restate it coherently.

"...And the Hammas guy snarled at him, 'ARE YOU A JEW, ARE YOU A JEW? THE JEWS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THE WARS IN THE WORLD!' Sound familiar? It's exactly what Mel said, when he was arrested."

What's your point? I bet they both drink milk with their cereal, too.

"Please don't...I don't need nor want your prayers and your snarky, sanctimonious, unctuous proffer is unwelcome. Go pray for yourself. Better yet....go learn some history before you decide to post about it again."

In that you seem to think that calling President Bush a "fear-monger" is somehow similar in kind to saying that the Jews caused all the wars in the world, I'll maintain my opinion that you could use some prayers.

As for me, I need all the prayers I can get, and never turn 'em down! ;-)

Sorry - but Mel's "followers" tend to be pro-Israeli conservatives. While I agree that celebrity endorsements can help a cause, I don't see his outburst as an endorsement. FWIW, I accept his apologies at face value.

I think a lot of people are starting to buy into the Euro-centric/ Cindy Sheehan view of Israel, that the Arabs are victims and the US and Israel are Satan’s spawns.

Perhaps. Of course, it's also the fact that our MSM is finally catching to the rest of the world's media, sadly. Will it translate into less support for Israel here? Sadly, yes.

Just out of curiousity, where did you get this data?

While I agree that celebrity endorsements can help a cause, I don't see his outburst as an endorsement. FWIW, I accept his apologies at face value.

His declarations were not only an endorsement, they were the anti-semitic equivalent of coming out of the closet. As far as his apology, why would you accept it at face value? It seems obvious to me he's only sorry he was caught. I'm sure you've read his Time magazine comments by now. It's clear he holds these beliefs. What is he apologizing for (e.g what exactly is his regret)? That his message wasn't more "carefully controlled?"

Perhaps. Of course, it's also the fact that our MSM is finally catching to the rest of the world's media, sadly. Will it translate into less support for Israel here? Sadly, yes

The MSM has always embraced the beliefs of our enemies. It's considered "chic". They're the sophisticated, elite. The rest of us are Simpletons. The problem has been that we USED to shut them up (during WWI & II) for example by using the Sedition and Espionage Acts. (We shot our enemy beligerents and carefully controlled the information the media recieved.) After the Warren and Burger courts got finished obliterating the meaning of "Treason" and the punishment for it, the MSM has been free to spew their self loathing rhetoric. As far as you last point, that was mine. Will this translate? The answer is "yes." For that Mel Gibson deserves as much forgiveness as the New York Times and CNN- which is exactly none.

I am an ICU RN and I've treated many thru DT's and seen many of them die thru the trauma...and many of my own "famly and friends" have suffered thru the trauma of which you speak.

I've also seen many come out "thru the other side" and seen the other-wise wonderful people they are when clean and sober!

So when I make the statements I make about alcohol being a neural depressant, and a distorter of reality, I know where-of I speak....in vino veritas is not in fact "veritas" or a true revealer of the soul. How-ever, that doesn't make one any-less responsible for the actions committed while drunk.

If one has a history of despicable behavior when drunk, one needs to take responsiblity for one's self and get the help needed to quit the alcohol...
So perhaps we're not that far apart after all!
