I saw this is already on the NY Times Bestseller list. I wonder who cares enough to buy it much less read it. Too bad that the NYT Bestseller list is not based on actual purchases.

John Dean, Howard Dean, who cares?
Because you know the old saying
"Two Dean's don't know the Right"

I listened to Dennis Prager absolutely destroy John Dean on his show last week.
Moon bat doesn't even begin to describe Dean

Thanks for the info.
Back several years ago before he [Liddy] was taken off the local radio station, John Dean kept a low profile like the coward he is.He would not make public appearances where Liddy could confront him.
Liddy called him a serial perjuer.

There's an interesting review
here. Robert Altemeyer of the University of Manitoba is Dean's "authoritarianism guru." I don't think his work really stands up because he doesn't accept that the left could be authoritarian. "Right-wing authoritarianism" is a fixed expression in Altemeyer's intellectual vocabulary. He sees it where he looks for it, but he doesn't really break the concept down. Googling Altemeyer and authoritarianism will reveal more to those who are interested.

he was a Republican. What he said would have never been reported on a democrat, much less have cost his job. He served under Nixon and Ford.

The man can't be trusted, ever.True. An opportunistic sociopath with no scruples and no regard for human decency. I would need to see a lot of evidence before I would believe Goldwater ever sought to collaborate with this worm. I think that's a clintonesque lie.

I believe it involved the "N" word.

I heard that interview also.
Dean made a fool of himself.
Later that day, he canceled out on Hugh Hewitt.
Coward.

NO not THAT Dean. The John W. Dean of Nixon fame. Interesting background from Nick Gillespie, who works for the Libertarian-oriented
Reason journal. Barry Goldwater in his dotage morphed from a conservative to a libertarian. And of course all those "holy rollers" types never sat well with those in the Republican Party who don't give a damn about values issues. They see those Republicans who genuinely believe in them as Hard Right authoritarians. So maybe Dean is channeling Goldwater; who knows.

I might not think Dean was a total idiot if he could name one thing he disagrees with modern liberals about.
