Actually Fire bombs is a more modern term for napalm. More precisely, "fire bomb" is the generic term. Napalm is defined by DoD as having a specific formula (see here)
At one point, some reporter asked in a briefing if we were using napalm in Iraq. The spokesman said "we are not using napalm", and did not volunteer that we were using fire bombs of a different formulation these days. Caused a bit of finger pointing (see last paragraph of linked article)
