Great points Coop. Even if we don't get the high-level names we recognize, the intelligence gained from these operations is integral in taking down more and more crazies.

I'm especially looking forward to hearing what was in the briefcase, if its contents are ever publicly acknowledged.

"Gee, the news media has suddenly "forgotten" their cries from just last month about the great "Taliban Offensive" that never was..."
Yup.
It's hard to believe that just over a month ago, the drive-by's, especialy The Slimes, were busy shilling for the great Al Qaeda and Taliban "resurgence" and upcoming victores.

One small step for mankindActually, looks like a considerable effort made by a bunch of brave people who were not sitting behind a keyboard wringing their hands.
From the article | Excerpt: U.S.-led coalition forces and Afghan police killed or wounded 38 Taliban militants in Afghanistan as four suspected al-Qaida operatives were arrested by coalition forces in the country's east on Saturday, officials said. The latest violence came as a senior NATO official said a major operation to crush Taliban fighters in the south was moving to a close. U.S.-led coalition and Afghan forces attacked a compound in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing 20 suspected Taliban militants, a coalition statement said. The joint force used "superior fire and manoeuvre techniques and lethal close air support to kill"
To: EDINVA
I too like it that there were no casualties among coalition or Afghan forces. Unfortunately, the end of the article points out that 19 coalition forces have died in recent months. Since my son is over there I worry.
To: Coop
Let it be known to the skeptics that European forces are involved in this Afghan fight. Including the French.

Dead terrorists in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Gaza...
Meanwhile US troop losses at the lowest rate in months.
It's got its share of pain, but it just might be the Best Quagmire Evah.

Question: Do journalists covering a house fire feel they have to remain neutral in the battle between the fire and firefighters?

Do journalists covering a house fire feel they have to remain neutral in the battle between the fire and firefighters? No. Because the IAFF President was a heavy supporter of John Kerry.

Today (according to an FNC crawl and an Irish online publication) the resurgent Taliban had four of its resurgent members blow themselves up while resurgently planting landmines along a roadside.
