And everyone said that the world was going to end and guess what were still here. Granted I was only five years old, but I did go on to see the world become peaceful. We might not have had Ronald Reagan had 1974 decision was not made. You never know what would have happened if we continued to partake in the Vietnam War. We might still be there. I do believe that the Republican President at the time agreed to these decision and that is ok with me. If it was a Democrat than perhaps it would not have been a good decision. Look at Vietnam now. I visited there and it is beautiful. The Navy is stopping by and having a great time. Vietnam will be an important ally in a few years. We will be trading with them soon.
There were a few negatives about the North's take over, including the usual revolutionary purges. By 1975 the North was run by people whose only skill was killing and bullying. No wonder the country was a total economc meass until justy a few years ago, the old warlords had to die off and give way to sensible people. As to what might have happened if we had remained in the South, no one knows. Maybe the north would be an evil little communist state like North Korea. But I imagine that the people of the South would trade their last thirty years for that of the South Koreans. Ah, the amnesia of prosperity.
Blah, blah, blah. No, it is the gullable like you that keep putting liars back into office that keep screwing us over and over and over who are the enemies. The left has been putting those into office for decades.
The only way now to hold them accountable is for them to lose their jobs. And you also display your ignorance of the election process since the only thing I can do is effect ONE Congressional district and ONE Senate race.
My representative is a true conservative that's been fighting these worthless do-nothing, Rockefeller Republicans who will win about 85%+ of the vote in November. The Senate race is probably going to be between dumb and dumber with a Chaffee like RINO named Bob Corker versus Harold Ford, Jr. who is running a GOP campaign - talk conservative to get elected. Oh wait, that's Bob Corker too!
But I'm sure Lamar! can step up and fill in for the spineless Bill Frist since he doesn't have one either.
You're rhetoric is childish. Irreparable harm? That's funny...how are keeping them in power going to stop that? By spending more on pork? Not pushing on judges? Ignoring illegal immigration as they all have for decades? Caving on the ridiculous Voting Rights Act? Willing to raise the minimum wage? Backing Arlen Specter? Wanting Lieberman, the big liberal except for one issue where it doesn't matter, to win? Backing Lincoln Log Chaffee just because he puts and R by his name?
I threw my temper tantrum years ago when I helped get Reagan elected and then a conservative Congress in 1994. What happened to those people?
So much utter nonsense, so little time....
Thanks, defines your first post exactly.
would their enemy = wound their enemy
So let me see...you actually BELIEVE the liars and leadership in the GOP that tell you they are different.
I'm not going to vote for Ford. I hate him and his corrupt family. But if you can explain to me how voting for Corker would be any different then I'll be happy to listen (whistles while Jeopardy theme runs through my head).
Oh, I know your answer - he'll have and R behind his name. That much make it better as he votes with the Dems every single time ala Lincoln Chaffe, Susan, Collins, Olympia Snowe, Arlen Specter, etc. Maybe hell help McCain hinder our free speech rights some more with add-ons to campaign "finance reform".
He's a left wing jerk hiding behind lies to get elected. Period. It's not my fault Van Hilleary jumped in the race when he shouldn't have and there are enough of his supporters (I don't know why) to split the conservative vote with Ed Bryant.
So, Mr. Genius, please explain this to me. Corker vs. Ford and how do I win? The only answer is to keep the seat in the R column to hold the majority. So Corker votes like a liberal but we can make sure the majority leader replacing Frist is another weak moderate. Trent Lott's not busy.
In each of your posts you have yet to refute any of my facts or comments about actual leadership and the languishing of conservative values being pursued by the GOP today.
Instead you prefer attacking me for "helping the enemy" and calling me a terrorist. Over the top rhetoric while ignoring the substance of the argument is the tool employed by the left.
If Ed Bryant loses the primary I'm going to write him in the general election. If you call that supporting Ford because I'm not going to vote for Corker you are foolish. It's principal. And I'd rather lose on principal than hold my nose and vote for someone that will not advance my interest when they told me they would. And you have yet (it's a pattern with you) to explain to me how Corker would be better than Ford.
Frankly, Ford has a voting record as a congressional representative and he has voted with the conservative Republicans on many issues. Again, I don't want him in the senate. I think he's as corrupt as his entire family. But would you vote for Lincoln Chaffee just because he calls himself a Republican over someone who, as a Democrat, voted with the GOP more? If you say yes then who is the flaming idiot?
Well there you go! You're getting smart already.
Once again, only primitive people think that by doing more harm to themselves than to their enemies, they somehow win. Your emotional ranting dulls your mind. I've found that most every one of you No-Nose conservative have serious emotional issues. Get help.
I think EVERBODY is in for a big surprise on Thursday. The signs are all there...the last lopsided polls were done before the ad blitzes - Corker is getting hammered in middle TN by Bryant, Hillery AND (believe it or not) the press. I don't see Corker's support in middle TN as that strong, and they say Bryant has west TN nailed down. Those are good odds.
As of 11:00 pm on 08/03/06, Corker is running away with it.
Yeah, hold the majority so those like McCain, Graham, Hagel, Specter, Snowe, Collins, DeWine, Chaffee et al can do more damage than even Kennedy, Clinton, Schumer, Biden, Reid and Dodd.
Oh wait. The Dems will, with a majority, will hold hearings on NSA "illegal domestic wiretaps". Oops, that's Arlen Specter.
Or those evil Dems will, if the majority, demand legal rights for terrorist at Gitmo. Oh jeek, too late, that's Lindsey Graham the McCain puppet.
The Dems, god forbid, will curtail our free speech rights in political campaigns! YIKES, John McCain one-upped them already.
Again, you have yet to actally debate me on the issues and facts and do nothing but resort to personal attacks and name calling. The idea you think of yourself as intelligent is good enough for Seinfeld material.
No, he was referring to Republican Internal Polling which says they will lose 30 seats in the House ...
Ping
Har har har....
I missed this thread in July but yes she's right. It's going to be a long two years for us.
