Webb is a LOSER.
Seems that Jim H.(omo) Webb has a thing for George Allens middle name.
Glad he adopted Liberal tactics when he switched to the Dark Side.
She was also Weasely Clark's campaign director.
what a sad excuse for a fundraising letter.
The endless use of "Felix" is already boring. It is so Middle School.
The local (liberal need I say?) news covering the event didn't talk about Allen's not answering questions questions but of Webb's not knowing anything at all about a major project in the state. (one I don't know either, but then I'm not running for the Senate)
Looks at this point that Ms. Vanden Berg will have the same success with Webb as she did with Clark.
"Instead of focusing on the issues, George Allen resorted to name-calling, bizarrely referring to Jim as R2D2 from Star Wars. Well if Allen wants to pin his campaign to Star Wars, I can think of far better movie references: Jim Webb as Luke Skywalker and George Allen as Darth Vader"
Here's the explanation.

"I know you've been a Republican, you've been a Democrat, you've been a Republican, you've been a Democrat," he said. "Heck, I don't know. Someday, we are going to be using the acronym R2-D2 for you."
I've been an admirer of Webb all the way back to 1978 (Fields of Fire) and the early 80's battles over the Vietnam War Memorial.
I have to admit to a general disappointment with the way he is waging his campaign. It is a good, and apprently natural, thing he is running as a demonrat as his comportment and demeanor is wholly incompatible with the Republican way of running for office.
Too bad.
This mentally disturbed little man Jim Webb pronounces himself "senatorial" even as he continues his childish and juvenille mocking of George Allen's name by constantly refering to him using his middle name George Felix Allen?? Webb does this all the time and I hope Virginia voters see it for how petty it is. Grow up. You're not qualified to be class clown much less a senator.

Agreed. He'll lose in 2006. But this race gives a great opportunity to build his name recognition -- which now is essentially zero across most of the Old Dominion.
So when old Hoppin' John Warner retires in 2008, I'm afraid Jim "Born 2-Faced" Webb will be the odds-on favorite to pick up that seat. Ugh!
As far as I can see, the Republicans have absolutely nobody of any substance to run for Warner's seat. After all, the best they could do for the 2005 governor's race was to run Jerry "Cornbread in the Mouth" Kilgore. What a disaster!
So what. Webb is more Conservative than gun-grabbing John Warner anyway. Even Ted Kennedy or Chuck Schumer would be an improvement over that RINO schmuck Warner.

Let me get this straight:
John Warner isn't conservative enough for you.
THEREFORE, when he retires, you prefer that the seat go to a Democrat.
Wow! What great logic!
[PS: I've been down on Warner ever since he voted against Bork in 1986. Does that mean I prefer that a Democrat occupy his seat in 2009? I think the question answers itself.]
Allen should just talk about the issues, outline his agenda, and pretend Webb doesn't exist. (Actually, for the millionth time, Allen shouldn't have run for re-election, enjoyed the 1.5 years off, which would have made him the clear front-runner) It's obvious what Webb is doing. His job is to make Allen lose his temper and jeopardize his presidential aspirations among conservatives.
Man, that is one sad, unprofessional, poorly written screed. I know R2D2 probably didn't write it but it is his campaign and certainly reflects very poorly on him. P.U.
Absolutely not true.
Eric Cantor, JoAnn Davis, Bob Goodlatte, Randy Forbes and Virgil Goode are all distinct possibilities.
Heck even RINO Tom Davis and former Governor Jim Gilmore are good possibilities.
Not gonna happen.
Except that, given Webb's history and emotional make-up, he is bound to flip out during a debate or a campaign event, a la Howard Dean, and reveal his mental instability to Virginia voters.
And if that list isn't good enough, I'll come out of retirement from politics and run.........../sarc
