From Metulla it's about 17 miles east to the nearest territory controlled by Syria; going east from that northern tip of Israel you go over the Golan heights, controlled by Israel, and then cross the 1974 cease-fire line, then a shallow zone controlled by the UNDOF before you reach Syria controlled land.
Israel has had troops in Lebanon for days. Where is this so called Syrian response. It's typical ME BS if you ask me.

A drive up from Metula to the river cuts Southern Lebanon off from Syria, and puts the HEZ in an untenable position where they either run, or die in place without support.
