Yes the land was captured from syria, but syria took it from lebanese. It is actually owned by christian lebanese. Syria pushed into lebanese territory (like they always do and still do now) and during the 67 war when syria lost to israel it was occupied by israel since they took it from the syrians.
And your FACT that it is 100 square miles is way off. Its only 10 square miles.
