Whatever it is, she never came close to cracking (no pun intended) a smile. I thought tripping was supposed to be fun???
Much appreciate the info and relating experience as a public defender in regards to this drug.
The big brouhaha was over home drug factories. These required highly poisonous and flammable chemicals, and were notorious for exploding. Making large quantities of the required feed substance pseudoephedrine difficult to get, put the damper on these.
Truck stops along HWY20 in the south are well known to add "Crystal Meth" and Speed...etc...to coffee for truckers so they can stay awake.
This is a HUGE problem in AZ. Law enforcement and the media are NOT making this up. I have lived in the mid-west and on the east coast and I had no idea what was going on here until I saw it myself.
The documentaries that I have seen don't spend enough time covering the devastating effects that the use of this drug has on children. In January a 7 week old baby was starved and dehydrated until he died. His parents were doing meth and that is all they cared about. He had a 15 month old sister who the state took immediately into foster care to save her life.
This is not being hyped. In Arizona it is a real problem.
"From what my born-again friends, who were former users tell me, that is a classic "sucked-in" face of a meth user."
Meth mouth. Smoking it causes the teeth to lose enamel, then actually get soft, turning brown/black and then falling out. If you ever see someone with an odd black hole between their two front teeth, you're seeing the early, outward physical effects of smoking the stuff. They'll begin to look emaciated soon after.
I'll bet she did whatever she got her hands on.
