I am not sure why we are evacuating them. I certainly don't want them here.
Yeah, I saw some of these "Americans" interviewed the past few days. Probably cheered Hezbollah's murder of 241 U.S. Marines. (if they were adults at the time).
Yes, but they support the troops, right?
I suspect that some of the time to begin this evacuation was spent in doing checks on those wanting out. At least I hope so.
Jeez. You learn something new and horrible every day.
More and more information coming out as to the people the US has allowed into this country --- reckless and arrogant and maybe terrorist-sympathising.
How do we get rid of a.) State dep't ICE and others who let this happen and b) the Lebanese you speak of?
There was a Lebanese American on the thread that was addressed to Reb 2. He mentioned being at home in his home (Lebanese)village and yet was American. Wasn't concerned about being evacuated.
No, actually they support the Hezbollah troops, but they don't support the Hezbollah mission. LOL
Who is Debbie Schlussel?
And they are upset, that living alongside terrorists has suddenly become more dangerous than living among their victims.
Can I question their patriotism now?

I was wracking my brain trying to figure out why 25,000 US citizens would have any possible reason to be in Lebanon.
I will state this bluntly- most Arab Americans are not really Americans. American-ness is a state of the mind, and has nothing to do with possessing a little black book with the picture of a bald eagle.
Can you elaborate on that? Sorry, but I hadn't heard about that before.
I made a comment on Sunday about this situation and got flamed by several people. I still think that a lot of people put themselves in harm's way. There was a state department warning about US citizens traveling to Lebanon as far back as May. People who are there on vacation and are now complaining that the "Administration" did not get them out immediately need to bear some responsibility for the situation they now find themselves in. They were warned.
thank you for posting this.
If I were in charge of those evacuation ships, I'd order double duty on body searches.
Quite frankly I doubt the report. An awful lot of Americans with ties to Lebanon and dual citizenship are Christians who emigrated to escape persecution or pursue the American dream, but still have family back in the Old Country, and return to visit when times are peaceful. There are also a lot of Americans who go there because of church ties: the Maronite Patriarch is in Lebanon and the Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch's seminary is in Lebanon.
