Cook County needs to put this guy in jail. Or recall him (easier).

I was told recently that if the police forcibly entered my home that I had no right to hold a gun as protection. There is no court-of-the moment to determine my 2nd amendment rights. I was warned that I would probably be wounded if not killed.
How can this be true? What gives law enforcement the right to shoot me without my provoking them?

From what I understand they would need a warrent first. If they just force entry you can shoot 'em where they stand.

Nothing to worry about over this
Should it ever come to pass, the ACLU would be there in a flash, seeking a TRO and filing briefs in support of gun owners as is their normal operating procedures in protecting ALL from infringement of their rights as outlined in our Constitution, expressly, the Second Amendment.
Okay, /sarc
Un Freekin Believable. Do they really think they could get away with this?
Not even in San Francisco, would this ever be attempted.
Bunch of wing-nuts, if you ask me, but then again, so many of our political (elected and otherwise) officials are.

I believe that's one of the brilliant ideas we got from the War on Drugs. What's sad is to see so many pro-2nd Amendment people supporting the WoD, not realizing that the WoD is preparing the ground for firearms prohibition.

Shades of the SS/Gestapo. I dare one of these gungrabbers to show up at my door!

Illinois should be forced to change their motto from "The Land of Lincoln" to "The Land of Lenin".

The only right LEA would have under such circumstances is if you were not around to dispute their claim that you threatened them
Pretty far-fetched if you ask me.
Cannot state with certainty, but don't know of ANY place in the US, where owning a firearm (not necessarily a handgun) is illegal?
Cannot fathom any LEA undertaking such a house-to-house sweep, even if ordered to, which is doubtful.
Come on, anyone old enough to have watched a television program is aware that this would never fly (absent a valid warrant which included probable cause to enter)and is wholly and totally unconstitutional.

Best be heavily armed when then come to take my neighbors - I believe in proactive defense and engaging forces from positions of cover when they aren't expecting it.

Ill. should cede Cook Cty. to Wis. but they probably wouldn't take it.
