Chirac has it ALL WRONG(as per usual)!.Lebanon's"Security"is in the hands of The Lebanese Government!!All they had to do was obey the UN Resolution that THEY signed which required them to DIS Arm Hezbollah in exchange for Israel's withdrawal from their country!!!Why is this "Rocket Science"?
To: RasterMaster
Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble following this? I feel like I'm listening to pig latin.
To: oceanview
He's getting his talking points from the MSM and the DNC.

and we have an Olmertesq leader in India who may very well over-react alsoHave we considered that Israel has been saying that the current situation with Iran is unacceptable since well before March? That they've maybe been looking for a reason since that time? Many of us thought they would go then, not wait until July.

Fox just had a DUmocrat (never heard of) from Taxachussetts who was already making the rounds blaming Israel for targeting civilians instead of going after Hizbullah.

There is a difference between throwing a punch, and landing a punch.
If those not familiar with orderly planning are not permitted to interfere, the expiration of the plausibly deniable ultimatum may demonstrate this.
I cannot be any clearer at this time, sorry.
If worse comes to worst, we may have to write off Tel Aviv, and essentially all of Israel. They understand this.
Tel Aviv will not die alone.
But that subject is premature.
Wait and watch. It's not like you have other options anyway.

Yes, it was "a" trigger, but the area was already prepared for conflict, was it not? Alliances and Nationalism had been stoking the region and it was really only a matter of time until something triggered a major conflict, and that assassination led to the ultimatum that started it.
The situation could be interpreted as loosely mirroring todays situation in the ME, but a closer look sees that most countries in that region are not prepared for such a conflict and in fact most countries seemed to have placed the blame on hezbollah and are distancing themselves from any likely regional conflict.
