And take note of this at the bottom of the article... We should probably make a note of this group:
Another armed group here, the Islamic Resistance Movement in Iraq, issued a statement on Friday supporting Lebanese resistance against Israel and calling for more attacks in Iraq to support our jihad brothers in Palestine and Lebanon, according to the SITE Institute, which tracks jihadist Internet messages.
Agreed.
You're right and I have not factored that in. If Allah will intervene anytime the future looks bleak, you can never be cornered, and will never respond as if cornered. Excellent observation. That increases the already considerable odds against any of the worst case scenarios outlined.
Well, yes and no. I think this conflict has already gone too far and too many Iranian made weapons systems have been put to use for Iran to sit quietly on the sidelines indefinetly. He might see a limited IRBM attack on Israel as a viable face saving option. And here's my issue with the "worst case scenario" analysis, if ballastic missiles start flying around the middle east its hold your breathe time. Global tensions are high enough (NK, India/Pak, Iraq, etc) elsewhere to make the threat of global war a possibility (albeit remote). I think in many ways this crisis has all the POTENTIAL of the Cuban missile crisis or the 73' Israel/Arab war.
I don't think any of this will happen, but i think this is as close as we've been to a for real global war in a long time
what happened to those IRAQI drones Powell talked about in his UN speech? could they of found there way to Syria and then to Hezbillah?
Not going to endear them to Egypt.
"The radical Shiite cleric Moktada al-Sadr said that Iraqis would not sit by with folded hands while
Israel struck at Lebanon."
Is he just now thinking this up, or chiming in on schedule?
Thanks for your informative answer .. ;)
Are you in the military?
I've heard of this group before. Iraq could well flare up, again, beause of this conflict. Maybe they will unleash our guys to finish the job.
Good info, thanks.
