Imagine...making illegals...illegal.
The mind boggles...
This story doesn't name the town. It's Hazelton not Wilkes-Barre. I saw this guy on C-Span giving kennedy and specter the business.

Spoken like a true patriot, of Mexico, that is!
The mind boggles...
LOL
No personal attacks.
Spoken like a true patriot of Mexico? No, an American patriot, one who believes in freedom and limited government.
No local government has the right to dictate to landlords or businessmen to whom or whom they may not do business. Local authorities bent on immigration enforcement do have the right to notify the appropriate federal authorities.
Imagine the ridiculousness, in America, of telling people they must check the passports of individuals before renting them a place to live. Will we apply that as well to motels? Will we require 7-11 owners to check passports before selling milk? It's baloney.
It will take a federal judge about 8 seconds to overturn that portion of this ordinance.
And one more thing--the men who enacted this ordinance apparently weren't bold enough to try to apply it against local public schools! In other words, it's ok (because of Supreme Court rulings) for the local school district to teach the kids of these immigrants (they'll get state and federal money for each "illegal" they take), but you and I can't rent out our upper flat to their parents?
This is carny show snake oil at its best.
If illegals are made legal than anything illegal a legal citizen has done should be made legal.

Another indication of the fallout from liberal enforcers' situation ethics and moral relativity----wherein each individual is exhorted to decide what's right and what's wrong for them.
We are also burdened with the curse of hyphenation----hyphenated groups dividing the Nation into balkanized groups that demand rights and privileges real Americans don't have.
The sicko hyphenates' have a constant need for adulation, affirmation and confirmation.
The US government, and all its trappings, have been turned into psychotherapy agencies designed to mobolize government power---and our tax assets---to subsidize and shore-up the self-esteem of hyphenated groups.
Anyone with a chip on their shoulder, who can claim a spurious victimhood, sucks up endless tax-paid financial aid.
Only problen is the hyphenates never seem to rid themsleves of their afflictions no matter how much money we throw at them.

The law should include hanging!
They damn sure have the right. Sell a beer to a 14 year old, get caught and see what happens.
Of course you would probably do that too. Anything for a buck.
I figured we all understood we were talking about adults.
But I guess you're just a child.
Brilliant, simply brilliant slumlord.
How about a bartender selling alcohol to an abviously drunk person?
How about selling secret technology to the Chinese?
How about a gun store selling a gun to someone who failed a background check?
How about not serving someone in a restaurant because of their race?
why not Eaker. It's a "free market".
Anything goes.
This law is directed at slumlords who advertise rooms in Spanish at grocery store bulletin boards, that we've all seen.
Your analogies are worthless. A bartender can tell if a person is drunk and knows that selling him more booze may kill him or others. The Chinese thing and the gun thing are foolish as well because those are issues of federal law, not local ordinance.
You know as well as I that this part of the ordinance will not last a second in federal court. And thank goodness for that!
Well you have proven that you know nothing.
I guess that is something.
Good job.
You convinced me in just a few posts instead of wasting my time with intelligent rebuttal.
