Too many people can barely aim their cars, they loose what little ability to aim with distractions.

Here comes the herd of superpersons who are sure that they can drive safely and talk on a cell phone at the same time.
It does not affect their driving, dammit!
And they can't even get it right, most of them, when they're not on the freepin' phone!
90 minutes a day, every day, I must run into the same 200 idiots in the whole state that can't walk and chew gum at the same time...

Oh Conan, protect us from ourselves!!!

I don't own a cellphone. How about protecting me from all the nitwits driving with one hand and babbling away to some other nitwit, who no doubt is also driving at the same time?
In other words, if you don't mind dying because you can't bear not to be chattering on the phone, that's your call, but how about you not take me with you?

Ok agreed.
But if your even considering legislation to ban the use of cell phones you might save more lives by banning "undocument alien" drivers in CA.
Getting to work each day is like driving the gauntlet.

Here comes the herd of superpersons who are sure that they can drive safely and talk on a cell phone at the same time. The herd of do-gooders and busybodies already beat us to it.

Try driving on a Military reservation. As of January this year, no cell phone use while driving period. Not hands free, not nothing. You also cannot park on the side of the road to use one. You must exit the road and use an authorized parking area.

While you're at it ban eating, reading magazines, applying warpaint, flossing, drying your hair by sticking your head out the window and other moronic behavior. And farding. Don't forget farding.
Keep your mind on your driving ~
Keep your hands on the wheel ~
Keep your eyes on the road a-head...
We're havin' fun

Ahnold might mean well but telling Californians not to yak while driving is like telling the French not to drink wine. It just ain't happenin'. At least Californians have a good excuse since they aren't actually moving forward while they are on the freeways.
